Check your wiring connections. A similar thing started happening to me out of the blue. The unit would work fine for a period of time, and then just shut off for no reason, and I couldn't get it to come back on. The next day, it would come on again when I started the car and stay on for a while, only to shut down again. The red light behind the face plate continually flashed, regardless of whether the receiver was working. In my case, there was something off in my red wire connection. The unit would turn on / shut off when I moving the wires on either side of the connection. I redid the connection, secured it with electrical tape, and the problem has not reoccurred. If the red wire is not the problem in your case, try the black and yellow connections. These appear to be the wires that could cause this to happen. I can't explain why the power kept repeating the power on / off cycle, unless the wires were in just the right position to be moved / jostled slightly while driving. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: connecting an ipod to a mondeo

With an itrip you can sync it to a radio station and hear your ipod through many systems. Usually they range in price from 30-60 dollars but are awesome. I hella recommend it. No wires needed

Changed car battery and the dual car stereo won't work now. reset the stereo and the security light is flashing and the stereo still won't work?

Your solution depends on the brand and model number of your stereo system I take it your stereo system is Ruth is included in a anti-theft device this is highly technical and manufacture specific you need to follow the instructions for installing the system initially somehow your system lost sanity. You need to unplug the fuse that goes to your stereo turn your stereo switch on and let it sit for a day then return with the users manual and go through the installation sequence that has to do with connecting power and setting default settings other than that you have to contact the manufacturer

the red wire needs to go to a switced power source. unless both the red and yellow wires are getting power, the deck will not turn on.

Pioneer AVIC-N2 does have unlock code?

no, this radio has no security code... Check to see that you have power on the yelow wire at all times, Power on the red wire when the key is on, and make sure the black wire is grounded well. something could have been disconnected at the paint shop.

Stereo issues

I'm assuming that you installed the head-unit new and that the faceplate did (at one time) previously slide down the way it was intended to work - is this assumption correct?

Is the molding around the head faceplate (mounting ring) damaged?

Are you sure you're not using the semi-permanent mounting configuration??
(see page 6 of the manual)

This particular unit has the option for a semi-permanent mounting of the face plate. If the two screws are inserted into the sides, it will lock the face plate in to the head unit (have you done that?) - if so, removing the screws will allow the face plate to be removed.

Dual MXD55 W/6/5 SP CD Problems

make sure the speaker grounds are connected to the speaker ground wires on the deck and not the "chassis" ground. also make sure both power wires are hooked up to a power source. the thinner power wire is supposed to be a switched source (like the ignition key or an accessory switch) that turns the unit on and the thicker one is a constant source which actually powers the deck once the switched source is turned on.
