Low Fuel Panel Indicator On

I have a Ford E-250 engine on my RV. Recently the locking gas cap
broke so I am not tightening the cap until I can replace it. I noticed that I am getting a LOW FUEL INDICATOR panel LIGHT that is on and the gas level indicator shows EMPTY. I know I have the gas tank is full. Are these errors in the indicators a function of the loose gas cap?

I know if your gas cap is leaking the low fuel light will come on but I never heard of the gas guage showing empty unless you have a float problem. The float is in the tank.

1995 Ford e350 c-class rv shuts down in hot weather. Suspect fuel pump. Overheat. No one in town we broke in can fix or says 2 weeks...how can we limp it home the 700 miles

The issue sounds like vapor lock, The temperature in the engine compartment is so high that the gasoline is turning to vapor in the gas line. There are not many options available in your situation except to travel at night when the temperature is lower. The problem is compounded by gasoline that has ethanol in it. A fuel pump that has low pressure can contribute to it and some people are able to control the return line pressure to help this.

Why would my OBD or malfunction indicator light come on and stay on?

Check engine light comes on with faulty oxygen sensor, loose gas cap or faulty gas cap. sometimes with low octane fuel as well. fill up with high octane fuel, tighten down the cap and see if it helps.

Fuel cap sensor 2004 trailblazer ls ex

Make sure you tighten your gas cap when refueling, until it clicks a minimum of 3 - 5 times. If this does not turn off the light, have it cleared at an auto center, & replace the defective fuel cap. They use an intricate system to equalize air pressure in the tank, to allow gas flow, wthout allowing evaporation of the gas. (Green Friendly) & EPA rules. Thew system is pressurized, If cap defective,, it will set the code.

The check indicator on my dash just came on. The manual says is a malfunction indicator lamp. Car is running okay. Thanks

Does the indicator look like an engine? If it does you should get the code checked at a local auto parts store or local mechanics shop. Did you recently put gas in the car? If you put gas in the car and dont tighten the fuel cap all the way you can get a check engine light. It will throw an evaporative emisiions code.

The "check engine" panel light indicator came on

It is a EVAP system leak
Detect pump sens CKT
Intermittant

First thing to try is to replace the gas cap.
Then the evap canister solenoid or the hose that goes to it.

1998 Honda Accord with a engine code(check eng.light) #1259. what do I need to do to fix it. thank you.

The manual for your Accord indicates the following:
This indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch ON (II). If it comes on at any other time, it indicates one of the engine's emissions control systems may have a problem. Even though you may feel no difference in your vehicle's performance, it can reduce your fuel economy and cause your vehicle to put out excessive emissions. Continued operation may cause serious damage.
If you have recently refueled your vehicle, the cause of this indicator coming on could be a loose or missing fuel fill cap. Check the cap and tighten it until it clicks. Replace the fuel fill cap if it is missing. Tightening the cap will not make the indicator turn off immediately; it takes three driving trips.
If the indicator remains on past three driving trips, or the fuel cap was not loose or missing, have the vehicle checked by the dealer as soon as possible. Drive moderately until the dealer has inspected the problem. Avoid full-throttle acceleration and driving at high speed.
Hope this helps you find the problem.

Fuel door indicator light remains on.

You may have one of the following.

A loose gas cap - remove cap and re-tighten again to see if light goes out (may take a while before light goes out)

A faulty gas cap - replace with a new one (shouldn't have failed yet if your car's only a year old)

A faulty fuel sensor only if your fuel level also shows as low (shouldn't have failed yet if your car's only a year old)

There's a vacuum leak somewhere (this would also trigger a check engine light)

Check gas cap indicator light

Hi. this situation concerns a lose gas cap that you may have forgotten to tighten correctly during a recent fill up at your local gas station or, it could be that the original gas cap or replacement gas cap is not sealing the cap area correctly, preventing proper fuel pressure.

Check the gas cap to see if its tight and that it clicks when you turn it. make sure you turn until it clicks. this will ensure a secure fit.

Now, if you have just recently bought a new replacement cap, it may be the wrong fit and i would recommend purchasing the original replica form the dealership to ensure a tight fit.

Please rate and god bless:)
