Make sure the fuel is good. Ethanol laced fuel starts to varnish after 20 days and is no good by 30 days, it also attracts water. Be sure you have good fresh fuel, then try a new spark plug.

SOURCE: Starts fine and dies in

Check your fuel filter if you have one.
If the mower/weedeater is over a year old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
Sounds like you will need to clean the carburetor or replace your carburetor internal rubber parts like the diaphgram and O rings.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or using starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Keep in mind that the float for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instrucitons you get with the carburetor kit.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.
But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their orginal position before you started.

SOURCE: 8hp Tecumseh engine how to adjust carb. when I put

These symptoms indicate a rich mixture. Assuming the carb is the original (and therefore correct) one, and that it has an adjustable main jet, turn in the main jet adjustment screw on the bottom of the float bowl until the engine runs smooth.

If there is no adjustment on the float bowl, the carb will have to be removed and properly cleaned (ultrasonic cleaner recommended).

Craftsman 208 cc ohv engine on cub cadet 524 swe snowblower.Starts, dies, then fine for a while, then starts hard, might die when auger is engaged,.could rebuild carb, but I don't think thats it

Mine did the same thing, it was a valve guide pulling out of the head. That changed the valve gap and caused the problem you mentioned. The dealer said it was common with these motors.

My Tecumseh LH195SA is hard to start and to the only way I can start it is to spray starting fluid into the carburetor. Any suggestions. Oh - I replaced the carburetor.

is the carb to a snowblower engine?

fuel flow is suspect.

1. loosen gas cap (sometimes the vent in it does not work and tank gets airlocked
2. fuel line on? is there a on/off valve?
3. fuel filter ok?
4. water in line or tank could now be ice...only additive i use is k-100 from napa to keep fuel fresh and blended vs ethanol phased seperation.....also remember fuel is now 10% ethanol (which is basically dry gas)
5. easiest test is to partially loosen carb float bowl bolt at bottom of bowl....don't remove it, just loosen enough to see if fuel comes out.
6. was primer airline hooked up? https://www.jackssmallengines.com/jacks-parts-lookup/manufacturer/tecumseh/4-cycle-horizontal/lh195sa/lh195sa-67418v/engine-parts-list

Snowblower will not start -plug has good spark--gas new -and getting to plug -have both back and intake pressure -oil level good new oil --flot and valves ok --all air lines connected ----yet no turn over...

If this engine turns over then try this. I am not sure if you mean starter won't turn or just won't start when turning over.
Take the fuel bowl off and clean it real good as well check the fuel jet and make sure it's not plugged. The jet in most engines is in the bolt you take off the bowl with. There should be fine holes in the bolt itself. I use my air compressor to clean mine.
If you want to try something first take the spark plug out and put a table spoon of gas in the spark plug hole and put the plug and wire back on. Try to start and if it fires up then stalls then you know its carb related.
Also if you have a fuel adjusting screw in the carb you can turn it out a little at a time to set the gas flow to the engine. Do this first before you take things apart.

Why does Honda GX340 die immediately despite fresh gas, cleaned carb, and new plug?

Perhaps you haven't adjusted the carburetor correctly. The fuel supply orifice could be still plugged . Recheck the carb.

Engine will not run/tecumseh enginelstall once it starts/hsk model

I assume this is on a snowblower?

Be sure you have fresh fuel.

You can also remove the bowl on the carb and spray carb cleaner in any orfice you see.

Always store a snowblower with fuel stabilizer in it. Otherwise it the fuel can "varnish" the inside of the carb and cause problem.

If it still doesn't start check compression.
