I finally got one to work by 1) Disconnect the unit from your computer. 2)turning the unit off, 3) Reset the unit using a pin or small object. 4)Now reconnect to your computer.
I preformed this procedure and finally was able to load photo's and get the pre-loaded software to work.
Tough the picture frame states 1000 photos, it really depends on the size of the picture. To resolve this purchase a 2 or 4 gb memory card and download your pictures onto the card. You can insert the card in the slot of the picture frame and then connect to your computer and download your pics from your computer directly onto the memory card.
If you have a DVD burner you can use the burning software that came with the unit. Maybe "Sonic" or "Nero".
Start the burning software and drag add drop your pictures into the "burn window".
Check your DVD front door to see if it says DVD Writer or DVD ROM. If it says ROM, then it is not a burner.
Best DVD or CD discs is Verbatim brand (OfficeMAX, best price).
Some models allow you to set photo copy or import method to "optimized". This will compress the photos as they are copied to the frame and allow you to fit more on it. But in order to use this feature, you must copy from a memory card or USB drive, not a PC. A PC will override the copy mode.
There is no internal memory in your frame. You can transferre them via the SD card onto the frame. But unfortunantly not irectly onto the frame without a SD card.
first copy pics unto ur pc desktop. then right click to copy. again right click to send it to cd rom. then open my computer and right click on cd rom and writing to cd, but make sure that ur cd rom is a cd writer. okay?
You can't see pictures on the frame while it's connected to the computer. The frame is supposed to say, "PC Connection established..." If you go to My computer and look for your frame as a removable device, you can open it and view the internal memory of the frame. You can see all the pictures on the frame and delete them if you wish.
1. Connect the frame to your PC using the supplied USB connector.
Navigate to the \DCIM\100Frame directory and delete all the Phillips
advertising pictures there.
2. Create a directory on your PC and put copies of all the pictures you want to display there.
3. Download the free picture resizer utility from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx (Look
for Image Resizer in the right column). After installing it, "Select
All" pictures in the directory you created, then right click and select
"Resize Pictures" from the context menu. Choose the 640x400 radio
button. Sort by size and copy all the small ones into the
"\DCIM\100Frame" directory on the frame drive (Called Removable Disk on
my PC).
