Convex red and blue lines looping at the top and bottom of the Screen

I have convex red and blue lines looping at the top and bottom of my screen. I have tried adjusting the convergence automatically and manually but it doesn't go away. It was barely visable but the lines are getting thicker and more prevalent as time goes by.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nintendo DSi bottom screen flashes then dies

You almost certainly have one or more blown capacitors on the board (probably just one). You will need to open it up, find the blown capacitor (convex top, instead of flat), and replace it. If you are unsure about doing soldering work on a board, get a friend who does this kind of thing. It's not expensive.
tip

The reason their is no blue color in you projection screen picture.

Over time the Blue CRT in your projection screen produces a thin layer of fungal growth over the top of the tube. This attracts dust particles and as they collect they blocks the light from getting to your screen. This seems to happen with only blue CRT's. To clean it remove lenz and use a damp terry cloth with a water and bleach solution. Wipe the convex part of the tube untill it is free of all dirt and fungi. Replace lenz and get ready to enjoy a very sharp picture.

How do convex polygons differ from non-convex polygons?

A convex polygon is one with each of its interior angles less than 180 degrees and every line segment between any of its two vertices remains inside or on the boundary of the polygon.

A concave polygon will always possess an interior angle with a measure that is greater than 180 degrees.

Rear projection - convex distortion / ghosting / expanding screen

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Distorted image and color

sounds like the convergence ICs have failed. Will the red and blue move in all 4 directions when you try to adjust the convergence? If not the convergence ICs are bad replace both of them also check the resistors that power the ICs as they may be open as well.
