It won't turn on all it says on the screen is kindle fire nothing else

Maybe the Kindle is frozen on that screen. The Kindle HDX User Guide suggests a hard reset by holding down the power button for 20 seconds before releasing it. That should shut the Kindle down. Be sure to not have the Kindle on a charger or hooked up to a USB cable during the hard reset. Next restart the Kindle. If that fails then charge the Kindle as you would normally do and when done detach the charger and USB cable and try another hard reset. If all fails go to www.amazon.com/kindlesupport.

Why won't my Kindle recharge?

CAN YOU TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AND LEAVE IT ALONE FOR THE NIGHT? BEFORE YOU RE-INSTALL THE BATTERY, PLUG THE CHARGER IN.

It will not power up. was on the charger most of the day.

To wake up or turn on your Kindle, slide and release the power switch again. If your Kindle does not power on or is unresponsive during use, try resetting the device by disconnecting your Kindle from any power source, and then sliding and holding the power switch for 15 seconds before releasing.

I put my kindle on the charger last night and now it won't start. Could the battery be dead?

It probably is the battery. Amazon will replace it for around $100 or you can do it yourself for about $ 40. Lots of YouTube videos will show you how. It's easy once you successfully open the case. Good Luck

Kindle fire will not charge-got a new charger and it still will not charge- does it need anew battery and how do I do that?

The Kindle touch and the Kindle FIre are great devices for your reading needs. However, there are times when it becomes unresponsive and freezes on you. Amazon says it is because the battery isn't charged properly or does not have enough power on it. It is advisable to charge your battery first before trying to reset the Kindle touch/Fire. If theKindle still has issues, then try the steps below on how to reset your Kindle touch/fire. Please note that you may lose your data during the reset process, make sure you have made a backup of your files before proceding.
  • Hard and soft reset
Make sure the Kindle is turned ON.
  • Press the Power button for 20-30 seconds until it turns OFF.
  • Wait for it to reboot, if it doesn't press the power button to turn it ON.
  • Your kindle should be back to a responsive state.
  • this might help you.

My Kindle Fire will not turn on. I charged it all night and it still will not turn on.

USING THE DEVICE EXCESSIVELY WITH THE CHARGER PLUGGED IN WILL DETERIORATE THE BATTERY'S LIFE CYCLE. IF YOU ASK YOURSELF AND KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DONE THIS.... I AM GOING TO BE HONEST WITH YOU,... YOU NEED A NEW BATTERY... ALSO., EXCESSIVE CHARGING WILL WEAR OUT THE CHARGING PORT. HAVE YOU TRIED A NEW CHARGER???

Her is a possible solution:
1. Plug into the original charger, hold the power down for a full 30 seconds, release. Let charge in this state for 12 hours.
2. Lease the device plugged into the charger, while you have the device plugged into power, press the power button for a full 40 seconds, release. Wait for 5 seconds and then press and release the power button. Did the device wake up? No, continue to step 3.

4. Plug the Kindle into the new or alternate charger. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds release. Let charge for 12 full hours.
5. Unplug the Kindle from the charger.
6. Press the power button for 40 seconds - time it. Release the power button, wait for 5 seconds, then press and release the power button. The Kindle should wake up. If not, proceed to step 7.

You may have a common problem, for which you should check the Kindle FAQ at http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_cu_T16_518316_ph_kindle_supp?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200127470#FAQs

If your Kindle is still defective after looking at the troubleshooting advice, you can contact Amazon via the "Contact us" button on the right hand side of the page linked above. Your Kindle is covered by a 1 year limited warranty, so if it is broken Amazon should be happy to replace it.
