I can record movies and play them back on the camera no problems.
When I download them to the PC, I can only hear sound, nothing appears on the screen except a black screen.
Samsung are no help as they do not reply to emails... Anyone any solutions??
I think you might need to change your video viewing software. Try quiktime or Realplayer. If this does not work, look on the net for compatible software so that you can view your movies. Hope this helps.

This camera does record sounds. But, it doesnt look like it has a speaker in it to play them. So, yes unfortunately you wont be able to hear what you record unless you are using something else to playback what you have recorded.
I would try changing the memorised info that you put into your My1 settings and see if that helps. I just got my V700 today and the first thing I did was put my preferences into My1. I don't really know why your camera is transferring this to your video setting but try removing your presettings in My1.
The movie mode function allows you to record short movie clips. The recorded movies can be played back or stored as still images using the cameras index function. Please note that the D-390 does not record sound in the movie mode.
