My girlfriend has an Advantium 120 GE convection/microwave. It's about 5 years old, she had an issue with this before and the service guy replaced something called the TCO, part # wb21x10046. It happened again about 7 months ago and I want to fix it for her. Anyone out there that can give me a reference to where this part is on the chassis and any insight to a quick easy repair/replacement? Appreciate it,
Most repair warranties are only 30-90 days, but you might consider asking the servicer if they'll cover it. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your actual model number (like SCA1000DBB03, not Advantium 120) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 That part is the thermal cutout (TCO) or thermal fuse. It's reference number 1430 on the first diagram listed there.

My TCO has failed twice. It is located inside the upper section of the box. You have to remove the outer shell ( about 20 screws) and the everything else to get to the upper left front corner of the outside of the chamber. The TCO is inconveniently secured with two small screws that will easily fall inside the unit so stand the whole beast on its left side while removing them.
I would like to see if there is an alternate part that has a higher cutout temp or see if there is another solution to spending about an hour replacing the TCO. (after you get the part and put the whole unit on a sturdy table)
