The key pad stopped working on my microwave. There is power to it, the inside light works, but none of the keys work.
After heating up coffee and taking it out with time left on the timer, I pressed the "clear" button and nothing happened. Unplugged it and plugged it back in, now it's in start up mode and wants the clock set but the key pad is not working.
Okay, thank you for that.
You have a failed membrane keypad, but on this model, it is not available separately.
You would need to order the control panel assembly, part # WB56X10817, which you can get here for far less than GE charges.
It costs more than just a membrane would, but is much simpler to replace.
At
our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Then you remove your circuit board from the old frame and install it in the new frame.

Exact same situation and end result as the previous post. Fortunately, the microwave is only still 10 months old and covered by GE.
