Power issue with LCD Monitor

I have a Princeton LCD17 monitor that will not power up. When I plug the power adapter into a working power outlet, I will get a green light on the adapter when it does not have its other end (monitor end) plugged into the monitor. If I then plug the monitor end of the power adapter into the monitor, the green light on the power adapter will immediately go off. Pressing the power switch on the monitor makes no difference, the light on the power adapter stays off and there is no indication of power getting to the monitor(no lights and no screen image, nothing). What could the issue be? Thank you.

Try another power adaptor. Check the delivered voltage and go get a universal power adaptor that has a switched for varios voltages and a number of connectors. Simply match connector to the voltage switch.

I have a Princeton VL193 monitor and recently in will just power down. It just shuts off. If I unplug it from the surge protector and plug it into the wall outlet it comes right back up. When I plug it...

Monitor is erratic in operation - Power supply issue. Sooner or later the anomaly will become permanent and it will not power on. Just be ready for the eventuality.

My laptop moniter turns on as usual with the proper reading. I start in safe mode as normal..wait about 10 min and screen goes white

hello

"I start in safe mode as normal."

safe mode is not a normal thing during your windows boot sequence :)
if your display works ok until those 10 minutes of safe mode are over i would say that reinstalling your windows operating system will most likely solve your monitor issues :)

Dead. External power supply is good 12V but monitor wont turn on.

my 12 power supply was only 500ma, not the 4a needed. Got the monitor to power up but now the screen goes dark after 2 sec. Looks like a bad backlight issue. I'll replace the inverter board.

thanks

Princeton monitor, model # vl1916 Wont power on.

Hi, Billman11, maybe you can repair or maybe not. You need to tell me some stuff first. Need the approx age of the display. Next thing! Does the monitor have external power supply? (black box, sit on floor type) or internal (line cord to wall outlet, and other end to monitor) What exactly happens if monitor is connected to afully booted PC with known good vga output and u connect the flat screen lcd and push the power button? Is lcd panel still pitch black? no flicker or anything? Can you see the power on led indicator even?? From waht you already described it sounds like a Switch-Mode-Power-Supply failure. Each lcd monitor has 2 or 3 printed circuits inside under metal shields beneath the black plastic case covers. In your case, we will want to investigate the board that the line cord plugs into. That will be the smps board, or the little black box on the floor. If you want to try fixing this monitor you can get back to me at louie12fix on fixya or [email protected] aol.com Yes, I'm a vet and spent a year on Kanghwa Do, Korea 67-68 Work for company that provides electronic hardware/software to the gaming industry and located northern Illinois. After a power outage, monitor won't turn on

Anytime there is an electrical surge the weakest part is the "Inverter" inside your monitor. It is two pencil size tubes that generates the DC power to the backlight of your monitor. Bring to repair shop and ask to look at the inverters. Once changed it will work fine

Princeton LCD17 blinks off immediately

Check the VGA cord that connects from the PC to the LCD, try putting VGA cord properly to the LCD and PC, or change the VGA cord. saving mode indicates no signal from the PC. So either the PC is not booting up or VGA cord faulty.
