Question about Dell UltraSharp 1703FP 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

I need 1703fp icc profile / XP drivers

Just got second-hand monitor. No driver disc, so I suspect the display is not optimum. Any help appreciated.

Thanks to the three respondents. The monitor is working well with the generic XP drivers, but I know it originally shipped with a Dell-specific CD. No worries, I'll carry on as I am.

Again, thanks. SlimDrivers free didn't think the monitor needed a driver. The Dell website was thefirst place I went, before I tried FixYa. It doesn't currently have anything on the 1703fp except the User Manual. No driver, no colour profile. I reckon this is the end, so I'll close this query. Bye.

Will make this simple for you this is a free download and does the driver downloads free also, and if there are other out dsated drivers it will update them also. Pleas3e download slim drivers for free may have to make your self a free account no big deal. let it scan if it needs a driver it will fix it. Or you can go to dells website and got to there driver downloads and put in the model number and download there.

Testimonial: "The advice is sound, but the actual answer to my query is that no drivers / profile are available online, from Dell or anyone else. I had done everything possible using the XP default driver and my video controller, with good results, but I know Dell originally supplied a driver disc, which might have further options. "

If slim drivers could not update the driver then you have the best one on there., if you need to adjust the settings on that screen it can be down two ways, one with the disply adjustments already installed on the pc or through the vidieo card if it is not the one built into the pc.Like one of my pcs have a nivida 9500gt 2 gb card and you can let it have full controll of everything.

SOURCE: Monitor nor driver acknowledged

If you just want to adjust the display settings so that they are more to your liking go to Control Panel and open Display. When the Display Properties box opens click on the settings tab. Use the slider bar in Screen Resolution to adjust to 1024x768 or whatever resolution your monitor displays best at. To the right use the pull down arrow to select the highest color quality you can select. Then click on the Advanced button on the bottom left and you should see a Monitor tab. Click on that and ensure your refresh rate is 60 Hertz. Save your settings, accept the change confirmation when it appears and your monitor should be good to go. I have about 90 Dell LCDs and the default Windows drivers for the LCDs usually work great.

There should be a USB cable from one of the usb ports on your computer to a small square (upstream) USB port on the back of your monitor. This will activate the four (downstream) usb ports on your monitor.
Good luck...and I hope this is helpful!!

SOURCE: Dell 1703FP monitor issue

reduce the hardware acceleration on it. I resolved it by reducing acceleration and changing my screen size. It works. I wanted higher resolution but it doesn't seem to be possible for some reason.
Good luck.

"Not Optimum Mode","Recommanded Mode 1280

FIXED : Before you start your legacy game, software where the "Recommanded Mode 1280 x 1024 60Hz" keeps showing, change your display FROM VIDEO CARD DISPLAY control application to 1024x768 or your choice.

My Syncmaster 2233 had same problem of "Not optimum mode" box coming on whenever I started any old game like Age of Empires etc. It got fixed by selecting FROM DISPLAY CARD DRIVER CONTROL UTILITY's (mine from Catalyst Control Center) >Set desktop area to > 1024 x 768 in my case BEFORE STARTING old application/game. Switch back to your normal resolution after you are done with this application.

Hope this helps.

Saurabh

Samsung SyncMaster 713BM

Hey!

Follow the instruction below to solve your problem:
Restart your computer and enter Safe Mode (press F8 right as the computer starts booting up. Choose Safe Mode in the menu, press Enter twice).

While in Safe Mode, open Control Panel and go to Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features on Vista/7) and uninstall the display driver software/drivers.

Restart your computer and boot normally. Now you should be able to see everything. Things might look bigger and uglier, that because there's no display driver installed. All you have to do now is reinstall the display driver. Use it's original disc or go to the manufacturer website and download the latest driver.

Good luck!
Pelu.

Not optimum mode

This means that your resolution (the amount of pixels) is not the same as your monitor's recommended setting.

The easiest way to fix this is to go into your display settings (right click your desktop and, if XP: Properties->Settings or if Vista/7: Screen Resolution) and drag the slider all the way to the right (XP) or top (Vista/7).

If the highest setting makes your screen go blank for more than 5 seconds, press Esc and try the next setting down. Do this until your monitor correctly displays the highest setting allowed.

Monitor 2492hm - error message: "Not Optimum Mode, Recommended Mode: 1920 X 1080 @ 60 hertz". Support from Samsung very poor - their answer is '...change to optimum frequency'. How and where do I do this -...

To term in the computer is the refresh rate of the monitor. Depending on the operating system it is done a couple different ways.

Right mouse click on the desktop and choose properties or personalize (depending on your OS). In windows xp click on the last tab to change the resolution. Click on apply then click on advanced, the monitor tab, to change the refresh rate.

In Vista, click on Display Settings to be able to do the above.

I have an error message on my screen which ios moving around. It says - 'not optimum mode. Recommended mode : 1280 x1024 60Hz'.

Sounds like you have an LCD monitor. LCD monitors look best in their native resolution. Yours must be 1280x1024. You need to (assuming this is a Windows PC) right click on the desktop and choose Personalize, Display Settings (Vista) or Properties, Settings (XP or older). Set the slider to 1280x1024. It'll confirm the change and then the message should never reappear.
