Check the printer driver properties settings. look under printing preferences and check the settings there.

Since I installed another printer, my hp 1320 starts printing these lines: PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error Illegal Tag Operator: 0x1b Position: 6

Okay, a hex (0x1B), that's a hexadecimal number is defined by the 0xYY signature.

What you are looking at is a Hex IB, That is the escape code for earlier editions of the HP Command set.

More that likely, all you need to do is to change the driver properties to Pcl5e to fix your problem.

Right now, the printer is expecting a PCXL command set and it is receiving a PCL5e command set.

Doubled-up duplex printing

Try printing from several applications, and see if the problem follows one spesific app. It might be an application problem. If the problem remains, try printing with another driver. Both PCL and PS. Try to avoid HP's universal drivers. Try printing direct to the printer and via the printserver. If the problems still remains, perform a Cold Reset. Still error, replace the system board.

Problem with HP 1320 printer

If the paper size in the word document is set to something other than "letter" example if it is set to legal. Then the lite is lit to let the printer user know it is waiting for him to place a sheet of legal paper in the printer, he does so and then presses the green button to start the print job. You can check this by going to "file-page setup" in word and look for the paper size setting.

HP Printer 1320 PCL XL error

hi,

I'd suggest downloading and installing the PS (PostScript) driver from HP here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=410624&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=410622&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228

Then use the PS driver when you're printing .pdf files. Use your existing PCL driver when printing all other types.

i hope it would help you...
