Problems with our Pentax Optio 33L. We first noted the problem when we had finished downloading images onto our computer, then very quickly scrolled up the images. At that point, a message popped up onto the computer saying that the camera had been shut off incorrectly and data might be lost. The camera icon had disappeared from the computer desktop. We unplugged the camera from the computer and tried to shut it off. It did not respond. The small red "flash indicator" light stayed lit and would not turn off. We took the batteries out and left the camera overnight. Next morning we put the batteries back in and tried to turn it on. The lens came part way out and stopped. Now we can't turn it on or off. It is not recognized by the computer if we try to download. We have tried fresh batteries, fresh memory card, plugged it in to the wall, plugged it into the computer. Is there a reset button, or something to clear it? It seems just locked up. Thank you!
Have tried twisting it around to see if gravity has any affect? Looks like a warranty job is it still has one. If not, get a quote from one of the repair firms, but I suspect the likely cost of any repair if at all possible will be very near a replacement.
