If the screen is black even when you press the menu button or switch to playback, than it's probably because of a defective LCD display. Anybody with basic repair skills and experience would be able to replace the lcd display with a new one. Try to find a display specifically for a L24 camera on ebay or elsewhere. There might also be a few video's on the internet how t disassembly this camera.
You provided very little information, so I'll try to answer: I assume you turned on the comptuer and it seems to be working-you didn't say. I assume it used to display something-you didn't say. Hook it up to an external monitor. Can you see something? If so, one of two things are wrong: Your LCD screen has gone bad OR you need to hit the Fn/Special function key combo that moves the display from your LCD to an external monitor. If none of these solves the problem, then your video card has gone south on you.
Sounds like a loose connection between your mainboard, inverter or LCD. Try to connect an external monitor and see if the display appears to the external monitor. If a display appears on the external monitor, you need a qualified technician to check your laptop. I fixed 3 laptops with that same symptoms, 1 has loose connector, 1 has ground problem and the other is an inverter.
Plug in an external monitor and use the F key with the FN to toggle between lcd and external monitor. On my laptops It is the FN and F5. If the external monitor works the problem is the the inverter board, the flex ribbon cable or the LCD. If the external monitor is also messed up then the problem is probably the video card/ motherboard.
