tHE DOOR SPRINGS ARE BROKEN. IF YOU HAVE DROPPED THE DOOR TOO MANY TIMES THE HINGES MIGHT BE BENT TOO. yOU WILL PROBABLY NEED HINGES AND SPRINGS....A bit of a job for a novice....like my capitals sorry about that.......
You could have a spring (on both sides) in left or right side of washer "unhooked or broken" You need to open up and check. Normally you open up by 1) Top 2) Back 3) Sides and different washers have screws that need to be taken out. Some springs have a combination of spring and nylon string that just hooks in. This is quite easy to fix with a screwdriver and common sence ....
The door is very simple as you already know. The only adjustment is with the springs. If they are in place and the door still drops too low (and probably very quickly stopping with a jar) then the springs are over stretched. This does happen over time.
Take one off and go to a hardware store. Look for ones slightly shorter to replace. Springs are springs so if they fit you are good to go. Or go to a parts shop and purchase replacement parts.
there are two nylon ropes that hook the door hinges to the door springs on the left and right side of the dishwasher.usually with time of rope breaks and the door stars to fall down.to fix this pull the unit out and look for the broken rope on both sides of unit at the botom.the new ropes comes in a kit and are abt $15.00.it contains two ropes and new wheel assly.u dont realyy have 2 chge wheels unless they are broken.but chg both ropes.to get rid of that squeeky noise aplly some bearing grease on the rollers over which the rope slides.that will take care of it.
I had a similar issue as described by mc1bean. One day my Jenair dishwasher door just fell down. The right side spring was fine. The left side spring was still hooked into the door hinge but the cable was laying on the floor in 2 pieces. Over time it wore down and broke. I ordered just the soft drop cable. Now I could not find any installation instructions how to install the soft drop cable. After a few tries I think I got it right. Here are the instructions for hooking up the right side spring with the cable. The spring has to be hooked into the door hinge at the notch closer to the door. The end of the cable with the hook has to be hooked into the other side of the spring. The cable should lead from the bottom around the pulley up to the door hinge again. Now the other end of the cable has to be hung into the door hinge on the notch further away from the door. There is some slack, but it is not quite enough for the cable to get over the pulley when in rest position and undo itself. I hope this helps others who have the same issue.
My dishwasher model DU3003XL0 has a similar problem. It happened yesterday. I had opened the door all the way, and then I heard a loud clunk sound. I suspect it is the spring mechanism in the door, and am ordering new springs, and hope to fix it myself. Wish me luck.
There are set springs for the adjustment of the doors on the Bosch dishwashers. they are colour coded for different applications. They are accessed by laying the machine on its back and pulling the springs out of the base. first you will need to check that the nylon lines which attach the springs to the lower part of the door mechanisms are in place and this can also be done while the machine is on its back. or by first removing the side panels to access the door hinge mechanisms.
If you have a custom cabinet panel on your machine it may be too heavy for the springs and new springs will have to be installed.
I need to know how the sprin & lanyard are meant to be attached to the dishwasher body.
