Question about Pioneer VSX-D509S Receiver
First check if the speakers are working at all put them in other channels and see what happens

connect to same terminals as front speakers, this will also cause reduced volume from front speakers. (as per owners manual)

I got the same issue. But, I go ahead hooked it up two banana plugs on teh VCR outlet. It works fine on my Cerwin Vega Sub.

Yes, there is no problem here. Just make sure the load ratings for the speakers are not below the ohmage allowed by the LG system (4-8 ohms is standard). Your LG system will control the upper limit of filtered input to the sub. The sub may further filter the input with it's crossover, but it doesn't care that the mid and high inputs are absent. (The reason the sub input is marked as unfiltered is to let you know that it can take the full frequency range--not because it needs it) You are getting mid and high or possibly full frequency range to the accoustamass speakers. You should be able to filter the low end out using the LG controls to avoid overdriving the Bose speakers on the low end. Please let me know if you have more questions.
