Question about Pioneer VSX-D509S Receiver

1 Answer

My sub-woofer doesn't work in any mode. The front left speaker doesn't work in CD mode. Both front speakers don't work in DVD/LD (surround sound) Mode. I have the coaxial connection for DVD/LD and Optical Connection for CD. only the Center, Surround left and right speakers work in the test mode ( test tone). Neither front speakers or Sub Woofer work in the test tone. Any ideas as to what is wrong and how to fx it.

connect to same terminals as front speakers, this will also cause reduced volume from front speakers. (as per owners manual)

SOURCE: I have a new LG

Yes, there is no problem here. Just make sure the load ratings for the speakers are not below the ohmage allowed by the LG system (4-8 ohms is standard). Your LG system will control the upper limit of filtered input to the sub. The sub may further filter the input with it's crossover, but it doesn't care that the mid and high inputs are absent. (The reason the sub input is marked as unfiltered is to let you know that it can take the full frequency range--not because it needs it) You are getting mid and high or possibly full frequency range to the accoustamass speakers. You should be able to filter the low end out using the LG controls to avoid overdriving the Bose speakers on the low end. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Hello,

On your receiver you should have a 'surround mode' and a 'display mode' which activate the surround speakers. If you are not in a 'mode' just the 'left', 'right' and 'sub' speakers will work. As for a remote, many of the newer receivers can be controlled via 'App' through a phone or tablet.
I hope this helps

Front speakers 5.1

Turn up the volume on the left or right speakers or turn down the center channel volume to meet your preferences. There should be a setting for that in most receivers.

I have a Onyko TX-SR303 5.1 Receiver and sound is only coming out of left front speaker.

Could be the IC that controls the various sound/surround channel modes. Had that happen on my Pioneer receiver.
Charged me close to 200 bucks to fix!

Alright i had a chance to look over things, this is how you are going to hook up the sub. first we'll be connecting the surround sound unit to the sub woofer.
surround sound unit sub woofer
left front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) left speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - ->( - ) left speaker level in

right front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) right speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - >( - ) right speaker level in

now that the surround sound unit is connected to the sub woofer you will need to connect the front surround sound speakers to the sub woofer.
sub woofer front surround sound speaker
left speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) left front speaker
left speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - - ->( - ) left front speaker

right speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) right front speaker
right speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - ->( - ) right front speaker

Alright now that the wires are all over the place and plugged in
turn everything on and see how it sounds. let me know if everything is working as it should. if you need help with anything else or if something does not seem right please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone

configure ur PC (both OS audio and third party sound driver) for surround sounds. control panel- sounds and audio devices - speaker settings - advanced - speker settings. so this done. make sure u select the 6 input channel - the button is on the right edge near the volume knob. near the vol button there are two buttons for selecting input type with up down arrow. from that u can select the input type this will be indicated on the top front indicator. but with the 6 input channel selected all selections are preceeded. if u select stereo mode u will have left/ right audio only.
make sure u connect the input right. connect from computer to 6 channel input. main, surround, center and sub-woofer.  connect the spekers to main (L/R), rear(surround) (L/R), center and sub woofer to terminal marked sub woofer ouput. this done select like i said before the 6 channel button. that should do it.
