Printer won't work, even if goes through printing motion, says ready, etc , shoots out paper.
I tried (in my limited knowledge , to go through troubleshooting . Did not work, normally I have only one printer connected, My HP 648c. Tried also another printer, Dell. My HP will go through the motions , paper and all, and does not print, even though it says ready, shows document jobs, etc. Help!

Re: Printer won't work, even if goes through printing...
Do you have the installation disk for either printer?
If so simply reinstall over the existing ones.
If you do not- Go to Start/printers and Faxes
Clcick on install new printer.

I think you are a knowledgeable person from your description (thank g-d). It sounds to me as if there is no current getting to the heads heaters therfore she is not firing any ink. This can be a break in the ribbons cables and the fix is to fit a new carriage assy. of course it could be the head itself. Remove and refit the head (no power of course) I reckon if you replaced both then it would fix your problem.
1. Make sure plastic (all of it) is not on the cartridge contacts. 2. Wipe the print area (bottom of cartridge) with damp cloth, If does not work, try warm water - even letting it stand for a few minutes. 3. Go to the printing services and service the device (this function let the printer try to clear any clogged areas that may exist.
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
First I try to uninstall the printer, it didn't work, so I reinstall the the printer anyway, it worked for one print only.
As second attempt I disconnected the printer completely, turned the PC off, and after few minutes on again. Uninstalled printer.
Reconnected the cables again, install the printer - it works well!
