In GoogleEarth, change your coordinates to decimal format. In your Lowrance GPS, change that format to decimal. You don't mention which Lowrance model so I can't find the online manual to tell you exactly how to do it.

SOURCE: GPS Coordinate Conversion

Just take the last 2 pairs of numbers and divide them by 6.
Example if it is 37 38 it would then be 623.

How do a find a location in google maps using coordinates

Go to Google Maps. Type or paste the GPS coordinates into the search field and press Enter. As long as the coordinates you entered are correct, Google Maps automatically shows you that location with a red marker.
Google Maps accepts three different formats for GPS coordinates:
1. DMS: Degrees, minutes, and seconds: 34°01'46.6"N 118°28'11.3"W
2. DMM: Degrees and decimal minutes: 34 1.77666, -118 28.18836
3. DD: Decimal degrees: 34.029611, -118.469806
Note that each of these notations use examples for the same location. Each have two sets of numbers: one for the latitude and one for the longitude. These two numbers are normally separated by a space in DMS notation, while DMM and DD notation separate them with a comma and a space.

  1. open Google Maps.
  2. In the search box at the top, type your coordinates. Here are examples of formats that work: Degrees, minutes, and seconds (DMS): 41°24'12.2"N 2°10'26.5"E. ...
  3. You'll see a pin show up at your coordinates.

How do I program my lowrance to locate reefs if I have the lat log reference?

You can go to your GPS page and zoom out and then using your cursor pad and move your cursor so it is in the general area of your coordinates. Start zooming in andifferent as you do the the lat, long readings on your screen will become more precise. Continue to adjust your cursor position so the coordinates match up with known position you have. Continue until the cursor position on screen and your known coordinates match.
Push "ENTER" twice. Your way point will be saved at the current position of the cursor.
OR
Push your cursor pad to bring up your crosshairs on the GPS screen. Save that waypoint, then go in and edit the coordinates to match your location data and save it. The waypoint you created will move to the new coordinates.

Consistent error entering garmin etrex coordinate in google earth

Consistent errors are usually projection or datum related. If you are taking coordinates collected in one projection and displaying them in your GPS in another, you the points will offset. I'm not talking about the decimal degrees 00.000n 000.0000w vs 00 00 00N 00 00 00W. I'm talking about the geographic model to represent the surface of the earth. Google Earth generally uses a geographic projection with WGS 1984 or WGS84 Datum. Make sure you are using the same settings on your GPS.

ETrex Legend, GPS Coordinates from Google Earth Don't Match Basemap

Are you sure you're using the exact same format on GoogleEarth and your GPS?

GoogleEarth: save the waypoints in a KML file (NOT KMZ) to your computer, naming it appropriately.
Go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/ and convert the KML file to a GPX file, using their converter. They will present you with a file to download. Download it and send those waypoints to your unit and you'll be set to go.
