It's not the receiver, it's the interface. If you recently had this unit installed with a door chime or, some other type of LAN data interface to replace the door chimes, the adjustment is off. The interface/door chime needs to accessed to turn the volume down.
The interface is neccessary because when you remove the factory stereo from a newer GM vehicle you lose the door chimes, accessory 12 volt power source, ON Star, etc. The LAN data interface replaces these features when adding an aftermarket stereo.

Does radio removal effect other systems if left disconnected.Such as heater blower windows or lights

It all depends on the year, make, and model. Most General Motor vehicles made after 2003 have the door chime, vehicle anti theft system, and interior lights connected to the radio. I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu that the interior lights and door chime do not work since I swapped to an aftermarket radio and I have a 2009 Silverado that I had to purchase an extra module to make it run when I swapped out the radio.

Many vehicles chime when your not wearing your seat belt this is the only chime I have ever heard in a vehicle while I drive it. If this isn't the reason read your owners manual I'm sure it will tell you there. Hope this helps good luck.

How do you get the "LOUD" screen to come on the

Some of JVC higher end models have a feature called BBE. The BBE button has replaced the loud feature on these models, so there is no Loud button on them. Some of these display panels still might show the Loud indication due to the display boards used.

I suggest check ypour User Guide for additional details. Good luck.

2007 Saturn Aura XE, the audible alarms can hardly be heard

Good news - they're adjustable. The radio is used to adjust the vehicle's chime level. To change the volume level of the chime, press and hold push-button 6 with the ignition on and the radio power off. The volume level will change from the normal level to loud, and LOUD will appear on the radio display. To change back to the default or normal setting, press and hold push-button 6 again. The volume level will change from the loud level to normal, and NORMAL will appear on the radio display.

Note: Each time the chime volume is changed, three chimes will sound to indicate the new volume selected.

2007 HHR Radio and chimes not working

Check the radio fuse. As unusual as it seems, GM has started having the radio (even though not turned on) generate the chimes and turn signal sounds. If the radio fails, all the chimes fail too.

This applies to other vehicles besides the HHR. My 2003 Silverado had the door chimes fade down so I could barely hear them. The fix was to replace the radio (under warranty, fortunately...).

I need how to install man. for 05 2500 hd truck chevy.truck

GM's Door Chimes Are built in to the stock radio. You need to buy a door chime relocator if it really bothers you. They Are about $30. I got one but the chime it came with was loud and annoying, so i cut the wire to the tiny speaker the relocator comes with just so didnt have to hear it. So, if it really bothers you, go to your local car audio store and ask for a door chime relocator for GM vehicle, they should know what you are talking about.
