Signal for 10 seconds

Ive just been given a couple of Acer monitors with 2 matching problems, when I switch my monitors on I only get a signal for about 10 seconds and then blacks out and continues to do so, odd times I might manage to keep one on after an hour or so.Any ideas on what it could be? Ive checked my cables - fine graphics card - fine need help !! Thanx , Mark

I know you checked your cables but I had a similar problem and changed the Video card but it was the cable in the end.

Hello nicky, double check your graphics card, some graphics card has shorted power causing to shutdown. try to replace or swap a new good condition graphics card. For you to examine well try use to swap it to another PC your Acer monitor. hope this could help you a lot. Good luck. agent1463

Reset the cmos usualy a jumper, or remove the batery for 10 min, it might be a videocard problem, try another videocard. It might be a memoryproblem.
If you hear bleeds google for biosbeebs and that will show you wich bleeb is what error.
If all else fails change processor and powersuply or finaly the motherboard.

My acer 19" monitor has no signal what should i do?
  1. check whether the signal cable properly connected to the vga port or not ?
2.listen the single beep from PC
3.try monitor on another PC . if persists , then the fault lies in the monitor . if not then the fault is in the CPU
thank you.
4.if no beep from CPU then disconnect RAM . listen contineus beep . if heard , then the RAM is faulty , replace it .

yes start the computer then keep pressed the key F8 untill the display comes then hightlight the option last good known configuration and select the problem will be solved

Monitor receiving signal, but no image
Hello!

I see many monitor with that trouble.
When you turn on comp., you can have a picture on monitor about 10-30 min. and that go in black screen, or If you change resolution again go in black screen.
You must repair monitor or bay another.

Screen Goes Blank
Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

X191w blank screen after 2 seconds
Just got off the phone with Acer Suppport. This was after I sent an email to them, that suggested that I call. 8-/ annoying. So the guy on the phone says there is one thing that we can do before sending it in. Unplug it completely for the wall and computer. Hold the on/off button in for 30 secs. reconnect power and the computer. It worked for me

What do you mean by it takes awhile to come on? Sometimes with these monitors depending on the type you have it takes time for the PC to pick up the signal. I have my PC hooked up to a KVM switch and it takes about 10 to 20 seconds for my monitors signal to be recognized.

OK I have the same monitor, I was given it by a client when I couldnt fix it, I DO have the 19V supply and still getting the same problem.

If you open it and reseat all connections you can reach, I find it starts to work. Unfortunately after less than a few days use it goes off again.
