I have a samsung LN40A530P1F. the tv screen started blinking

Hi,

Please ensure that you're using the correct input on your samsung tv so that you're able to access your channels properly. If this is the case, then you can power cycle your tv (ie unplug for 30 seconds to 1 minute). If this fails, please remove all accessories attached to the tv and try again. Otherwise, you'll need to factory reset the tv before moving forward with a potential home repair schedule via a company like Geeksquad/Bestbuy.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Check and replace its main system control memory IC. Before replacing it, just make a hard reset to this set. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall outlet, and re-plug it back after 1 minute or so. This must make the set a hard reset.

If it will not shut down with the remote (manual power also?) it is a microprocessor issue--if have not tried it unplug it and or a box if connected and wait--plug them back to allow them to reboot.

The remote can be tested to see if it is good but will not cause the scanning issue etc.

If a fuse blows like that there is a major problem, inside. I suspect that what your are seeing is the inrush thermistor, and they exhibit this under great load. I would explect that this fault maybe in the actual PSU. Due to the lack of service manual support, i would get a quote for repair from an authorised service center.

Blinking lights are usually an error code. Do you have a manual that will decode the number of blinks? Its not always the power supply.
