Opening the Sharp XR10-X

U mean the Lamp door cover?Yes?Tv might work,might not.Don't know never tries to turn the tv on before without a Lamp door cover close before.There is a blue safety switch though must be press down when the Lamp door cover is close.Test it out.Why don't u just take a piece of tape and tape that blue safety switch down tightly,than turn on the tv.If the tv message that said close lamp cover correctly disappear.Than yes the tv will work,without the lamp cover closed.Now u just needed to do a replacement of the tv projection lamp only that all.

CCD is not detecting the white refference value possibily your lamp is not getting on at the starting time check by opening the cover of the machine , if the lamp is not lighting up you have to suspect the white ribbon cable in the optics , first replace that one if the problem not resolved replace the pcu pwb and lamp inverter pwb respectievely. come back with your queries rate this and vote for this

When you open the lamp cover for replacement of lamp there is a switch in the projector is OFF
If lamp cover not fix proper after replacement of lamp the lamp/cover indicator flashing
