I need some assistance. I am unable to use my Proscan TV with Rabbit Ears and get the higher channels - yes dark ages I know but I'm tired of fighting the children to get away from the TV so no more cable around here. Anyone who can offer some instructions on telling it to acknowledge the channels above 13 would be awesome.

First you may need a 300 ohm to 75 ohm transformer if you have a flat wire with 2 leads coming out of the rabbit ears..you can get one at walmart, I attached a picture of what they look like...hook the 2 terminals from the rabbit ears to the transformer and plug it into the round terminal of the tv, set the tv to cable or antenna, what ever it has for settings, unfortunately though you may not get all that much with old rabbit ears as they are lower frequency pickup than the new HD channels run on.
Confirm with another set if signal for that channel is still there or not--also if not too large a set take it to someone who gets the channel and add that channel back into the memory with the remote.
I do beleive most tv companies stopped broadcasting over the air. the only way to receive more channels is to take the cable wire that comes out of the wall and then into the tv then auto pragram one more time and see if this helps. One question why would you remove the cable box? if you cancelled cable tv all together you will not get any channels. And like i said before all tv channels are removing there air broadcasting. so rabbit ears are going to be in the past soon. i hope this clarifies the situation.
What are you using to connect the rabbit ears to the tv, a 300 to 75 ohm plug assembly? it may have sprung the contacts in the rf socket of the tuner.
or The tuner has malfunctioned,
It may be switched to the wrong source as some tvs have more than one tuner input.
Most tv's have an Antenna mode and a cable mode. If you have cable tv service, the cable mode must be selected in order to receive channels higher than 23. Then you must auto program the channels thru the menu screen on the tv to receive the channels above 23. If you have a house antenna or rabbit ears, its hit or miss on receiving all VHF and UHV channels.
