According to what I have found, this monitor (Samsung T220HD LCD) does come with speakers built in. So, you shouldn't have to purchase any outside speakers. How are you connecting to your TV?

Yes you need to purchase outside speakers & hook them up to your soundcard in order to get sound from your computer. Another option would be headphones. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Check the audio jack plug from monitor to cpu if connected correctly. The audio jack plug should be connected to the sound card for audio out. You can also check if the volume in the monitor is adjusted or mute

If the monitor has built in speakers, you will need to use an audio jack plug to plug into the pc's audio in ( green jack socket)
Otherwise just plug the speakers into the pc, not the monitor.

I purchased a new computer and after hooking everything up, everything works except I have no audio. I believe the speakers are internal to this monitor.

Double check that you have the speaker cable plugged into the proper jack (audio out - green) on the computer. Make sure that the audio hasn't been muted and that it is set for the correct output type (if you have a multi-channel audio option).

Try a standalone set of speakers to check if the audio driver for the on-board audio or sound card is working.

I hope this helps.

(I've found that the integrated speakers will fail before the monitor does. Since the integrated speakers are low-end and similar speakers are fairly cheap, get new speakers of a quality you like. Repairing the speakers isn't worth it.)

I purchased a X2gen 15'' monitor and can not make the speakers work. Do I just need to purchase a ''y'' audio connector and plug it into the audio jacks for left and right speakers? bjsworld

If there are ports to plug a cable into, you need to connect the monitor speakers to your PC via those ports. A Y cable would probably do it. The standard monitor cable does not carry sound to speakers in a monitor.

No inlet on my computer for my X223W LCD Monitors audio cord.

Is the monitor supplied with inbuilt speakers..? Most monitors no longer have inbuilt speakers and this is why there is no place to connect the audio cable. You will have to purchase a set of external speakers and connect these to the audio output of your system.

I just bought an acer x213h monitor, has no speakers which i was aware of.But i did not know there was no audio input for this monitor. Is there a way to fix this problem

Monitors that do not have built-in speakers will not have an audio input.
Just purchase a set of external powered speakers and connect it to the audio output on the computer and place a speaker of each side of the monitor.

I have just installed a Acer LCD #X223W moniter. What do I need to do to get my speakers to work with it? Is there a missing port or do I need a new cable. This moniter has a HDVi cable but the Computer...

Did you give the correct model of the Acer monitor you have?

When I looked up the X223W monitor, I see a monitor with a DVI-D port and VGA port. Only the VGA cable is usually included in the box. If your computer has a VGA port (most older computers that came with only the video chip on the motherboard), you can either use the VGA cable or get a VGA to DVI adapter and use a DVI-D cable (purchase separately). Alternatively, check the specs of your power supply and available card slots and buy a new video card with a DVI port. If you have only a DVI port on your computer, get the DVI cable (the VGA to DVI adapter would work but isn't a good option).

If I read the specs correctly, this monitor doesn't have speakers. You should plug your speakers into the audio out of your computer. If you use the on-board audio you will see at least two jacks (microphone/line in) and audio out (speakers). Many audio cards and some motherboards come with additional jacks for surround sound so check your system information. Audio extension cables are a cheap solution if the speaker cables are too short to reach to your computer.

I hope this helps.

Audio problems

To use the integrated speakers on this monitor you will need the audio cable. Most monitors with built in speakers has a single cable with a green jack on both ends. It would plug into the audio jack on the back of your monitor and connect the monitor to your soundcard jack on the back of your pc. Cable should be able to be purchased at any electronics/computer store. Hope this helps.
