This model and others close to it have all sorts of soldering problems on the power board----fixed a lot of them by removal of power board and aside from fuses solder the ENTIRE board--every connection---bad connections develop with age and heat.

SOURCE: Pioneer SD-532HD5 Projection Screen TV won't turn back on.

the problem with pioneer projection tvs is that when they made the boards they never used enough solder for the circuits and you get cracks in the runs. thats why heat and cold will effect it. I had the same problem and I took out the board and resoldered every track I could and it works good now but my remote wont work if anyone has any info or prints to this tv please post on here

Pioneer SD-P5185 Rear Projection has intermittent double vision

Sounds as though the output transistor(s) on the color convergence board are going bad or already have. If handy with Electronics; get service manual and check the emitter voltage.

Pioneer SD-532HD5 - Picture Bowed on sides only on 1080I

The problem you are describing is known as a pincushoin problem. I'm a bit surprized that you only see it on the 1080i signal though. I've inquired at my Pioneer contact about this and will update this soon.

Stay tuned...

I have a pioneer SD-532HD5, the red convergence went wacko and cannot adjust

A microchip controls the color convergence. There is no easy way to fix it. A new chip will be needed.

Possesed awesome tv

the clicking noise is probably just the relay. I gyess it makes the same noise if ou turn it off manually with the remote? Does your TV have a sleep timer function? Check to see if this is enabled. You might also check the batteries. If they are old, or the battery compartment is dirty (leaking barteries etc) you might get strange behaviour. My remote lives a life of it's own, changes channels etc if the batteries are weak.
