My wife just called from my nephews collage graduation with the following error code showing on screen. 111.0.0.-2. She has turned off the camera, removed batteries and media card. Cleaned contacts. Returned batteries to camera. Code is still present. What is this code, can she fix it before the graduation is over? I can walk her through it if there is a solution
I do not know your camera but if there is a backup battery it may be the problem. Its a battery that looks like a watch battery only bigger.

Call up Kodak at 1-800-431-7278 select option 3 and they gave me a price for my C743 of $44.35 + $15.00 shipping, but still no luck on the internet but cheaper than a new camera.

the pics on the memory card should still be fine.
you will have to purchase a memory card reader
they are inexpensive ,for example a usb memory sd reader goes for around 25.00
be sure it can read sd memory
the memory card is ejected next to the batteries.

when you insert them in the reader it will read as another drive and you will see your pics.

THe issue of the camera shutting down and the lens Extending is an internal malfunction. UNited Camera Repair has been able to fix this, at least for me, they did. They replaced the main board and the camera worked when I got it back. Otherwise, if you dont want to spend the money, its a gonner..

SOURCE: series or type of kodak C643 LCD
the C643 camera can have either type LCD screen. The only way to know for sure as far as I know is to disassemble camera and look. LCD screens are available on ebay for about 20 dollars. the thing to be careful of is make sure the selector knob is in off position when opening case up. there is a front and rear and the rear is the tricky one on account of usb cable port. be careful

Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope
the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need
any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you
found this helpful.
