Scanner/photocopier started printing out all black pages either choosing color print or black. Also makes terrible scraping noise as paper comes out. Light passes across glass fine when scanning/photocopying. Prints fine from computer. Would a faulty cartridge be a problem? Why would it do that all of a sudden. Only use in a few times per week. - A little over 1 year old Thanks
The black printing usualy occurs when there is a faillure in the light, since your light is working fine, there may be a problem in the imaging device inside(camera) or the reflector. There is nothing wrong with the cartridge.

Thank you for your help. Would this problem be hard/expensive to fix? Can I fix imaging device inside camera or reflector myself?
thanks jr
My C8180 Photosmart prints fine BUT if you scan or photocopy there is a huge black strip running the full length of the paper. I checked the scanner with the lid up and the strip light is fully lit across it's whole length ... This has not been a gradual thing it just happened without warning. I have followed the instructions of switching every off and unplugging and used the clean the print heads etc but nothing has changed.
