Keyboard Malfunction I am being asked to look at a keyboard on his Aspire 3000 for a friend. He is having sporadic problems with the bottom row keys now working. Problem now seems to include down arrow. He has already used compressed air to clean the keyboard and swears that his children did not spill anything on it. How difficult is it to access the keyboard membrane on this product and in turn purchase a replacement? Thanks for your help and hope all have a safe and Happy New Year.

My 10-numberic keyboard on my acer aspire 5742Z-4200 has stop working, when I press the number they do not work. How can I fix this problem?

NumLk must be on for the numeric keyboard to input the numbers on the keys otherwise the keys default to the functions marked at the lower part of the keys. To turn on NumLk, just press the NumLk key on the top row of keys above the numeric keyboard.

The keys on the keyboard is not working. Mainly the bottom row of letters are not working.

Hi. If you have Mac, it seems that bottom row keys not working is a common problem but I can't find a solution yet. If you have a desktop PC, just replace the keyboard. It is cheaper to replace a desktop's keyboard than to repair it. If you have a laptop, you may try cleaning the contact between the keys and metalic contacts of the keyboard. Use a pencil eraser to clean the contact. You need to completely remove the keyboard from the laptop. If you are not a tech. savvy, you may have to ask for professional help.

Can't type same key twice in a row on keyboard. Have to wait a couple of seconds before typing same key again. bar on bottom of screen flashes yellow every time I press a key and window toggles between...

Have you ever tried putting in another keyboard? If the
other keyboard works, it's definite that you have a defective keyboard, and you must get a replacement. This is my observation based from your comments that there is no problem with the keyboard settings in your PC.

Acer Aspire 3000 key jammed on keyboard

Hello !

Remove the key carefully.

With compressed air, clean in and around the area of the key.

If necessary, use Blu-Tack or other adhesive. Put a very small dab and press the key.
