I just installed an Amana SDZ27ML side by side refrigerator/freezer.(No information is available for this model). The water line is hooked up but I get no water flow at the dispenser. I don't believe the air is purged from the supply line. Hopefully I have the ice maker shut off. (The feeler wire is in the up position.) What do I do to get rid of the air and establish water flow? Where do I get a manual for this unit.

There is something plugging the drain line in the freezer which carries water from the defrost cycle to your evap drain tray in the bottom of your fridge. The water has built up and froze plugging the flow of air from freezer to fridge.... find the line and unplug it and let fridge sit and thaw overnight and then some more.
the fresh food side is too cold . if colder than 38 deg it can freeze water tubing . there are kits for amana and maytag and jen air to prevent this ( and what is in kit is rubber shelf blocker strips that install on the back edge to prvent change of air flow . they can be ordered from amana for your model .. and you might ck the tempt in fresh food side and adjust to 38 deg . this can help . also adjust the freezer to a higher # this will slow the cold air comming from the freezer side . hope this helps mm
Remove the bottom kickplate . Follow the water line , from the bottom of the freezer door , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring , and pull out on the line , at the same time . Close the freezer door , and push in the dispensor pad for water . If water flows from the tube under the refrig , then the water line inside the door is frozen . You can either turn the freezer temp up slightly , for several days , or use an air tank , to blow out the frozen ice from the line ( I have read ) . There is a heater available to keep this problem from happening , pt. # WR49X10173 .
If water does not flow from the line , you need to replace the dual water inlet valve , behind the refrig , the piece that the wall water line connects to , pt. # WR57X10051 .
Low on refrigerant which is R 12. EPA has stopped the manufacture of it and it is priced out of sight. You have a leak and will need it fixed. Compressor is about $300-400 list. You don't want to go there. Good luck but likely 15-17 years old....... New one ???
Sign guy, you have a bad water valve on your fridge. It's allowing a very small amount of water to bypass it and enter into the freezer section Ice Maker fill tube where it freezes. (I always pull those fill tubes out through the back of the fridge and run them under hot water, then blow through them to ensure that it's clear.) You'll need a new valve assy. for it. Open the fridge door and find the data tag, get the model number off of it and call your local appliance parts place. It'll be a dual coil valve assembly.
