Easy fix. I had the same green spot problem with PT-52LCX65 and I removed the front panel (no screws). In the center is a panel that has two screws. Remove them and pull the cover off. There you will find the projection bulb. Do not clean the bulb but instead the base. Use a damp cloth to wipe the dust off the black disk (the base of the projection bulb housing). Apparently the dust through static electricity may cause enough magnetism to distort your picture. Hope this helps.

Check with Panasonic. I have the same issue and was originally told that the optic board needed to be replaced ($1700). I waivered on getting it fixed and spending more than the tv is worth. So I now learned that there is a new fix for the bad optic board and Panasonic is repairing it free of charge. Repair is schedueled for next Friday (Feb 1, 08). I'll report back if it was successful. This repair involes an eprom on the optic board. Hope the sheds new light........
"eprom upgrade" is the fix. Panasonic has issued this new fix and it solves the problem... hope this helps.
The "eprom upgrade" did fix the problem. Panasonic covered the cost of the repair. They made me very happy....
The "eprom upgrade" solved the problem (2/1/08).
A 15 minute fix for the Panasonic repairman.

Sounds to me like you have a damaged green LED in the light engine. Replacement of the light engine is likely your only fix.

I just started having the same problem. Called Panasonic today and they are sending someone to fix it no charge.
I have green spots on various areas of the tv screen for the PT-61LCX65.
I had the same problem. It got a 4 inch spot two weeks after warranty ran out so I didn't call it in. At 3 years it finally got really bad enough with two more spots and background started going pink snow. Looking around I found this thread and called a local shop who quoted me $225 +70 for a house call to do the repair if it was the eeprom coding. He suggested I call Panasonic to see if they would cover it via warranty. I called Panasonic and they agreed to cover the diagnostic fee and dispatched a local service provider. (the same I had talked to)
The sp came out and I told him what I had found and that it just needed the eeprom fix with a $75 tool that I couldn't buy. The repairman basically blew me off and said they had never done that repair and that it was a damaged light engine so they had to take it back to the shop to replace the '$1000 guts' of the set.
A day later the TV was back but I wasn't home to ask about the repair. When I called in, I talked with the owner again (not the guy who came onsite) and he said it was what we had talked about originally and a quick fix.
So even if your set is 3 years old and you have this problem, call Panasonic and they still may fix it for you. If for nothing else, I'll keep them in mind for future purchases because of their customer service. I just wish I can called earlier.
Thanks to everyone who posted with this solution!!!!
