Question about Dell UltraSharp 1504FP Monitor
Hi, My monitor screen has completely gone blank. I can see it is receiving power as the switch button is still glowing and i connected another monitor to my pc to find it prefectly working. So there's a problem with the monitor. I think it might be the fuse. How can i solve this problem I have seen a similar question posted on this forum before but no satisfactory answer was given. The so called experts were rambling about warranties!
Well friend if the fuse is the problem, you will not see any power light indicator. probably theres a problem in power supply circuits or most probably the horizontal deflection circuits. which includes the horizontal oscillator, horizontal drive, horizontal output and maybe the flyback itself. but if you dont know anything about this, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!

The capacitors are leaky in the power supply(usually bulging). Change the 3 in the heatsink area(little caged area in the corner(You'll see them). And the four small ones over by the transformers and you will be right as rain I think. Fixed mine.

Monitor going blank after 5 minutes of use (Was working for longer periods of time, but now down to about 5 minutes). I have tried turning the monitor power off then on, the screen comes up for a few seconds and then goes blank again.
Same problem occurs when plugging it to a different computer.
Noticed the Mfg date is November 2003... Is it time for a new monitor or is there still hope for this one?
Thanks,Michelle
Screen has gone blank but the power light is still working. I did find that if i held it to a light just right i can see an image and even read whats on it, it's just not lit-up.
