I was using my laptop recently, it start to slow rigt down, then it crashed. Since that i have restarted the laptop and it loads then it freezes at the display page and wont let me do anything. The laptop isnt that old. Is their anyway i can reset it, or just unfreeze it... Thank you
OK, here the thing, because you can't do anything, try booting up in safe mode! To boot in safe mode you'll need to wait till the laptop finishes POST(The first screen you see when you just turn on the laptop) At the exact moment after it finishes, start pressing(not hold down) f8! When you see a menu that has Safe Mode at the top, you have pressed f8 enough!! LOL This will bring you to safe mode, when you login you'll see a dialog box, press yes for now(We don't wanna try a system restore yet). Work around in safe mode and see if it runs better and doesn't freeze! If it doesn't run better(if it does skip this paragraph) or still problematic then it could be hardware related! i.e. your hard drive or memory(RAM)! Go to start->Run then type cmd an press enter type chkdsk c: /f /r and press enter wait till that process completes If you get an error like unrecoverable errors found then you'll need to change your hard drive! If it finishes look though lil report it give and see if there are any bad sectors, if there are then it hard drive has problems and might be able to repair via software! One way to verify the memory is put in a known good memory in the laptop! If it does work better then its software related and you need to clean up your software! get back to me after you tried this! regards babb

Could be that the graphics driver is corrupt, so check this by My computer>right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and look down the list for display adapters and click on '+' sign, right click on next line and select uninstal. Restart notebook and graphics will automaticaly be installed. If still the same, try to think back when it started and go to programmes>accesories>system tools>system restore. Select restore my computer to an earlier date and go back as far as before the problem started and select a date that is not greyed out and select next and allow a restore, you will not lose any saved documents. Also run a spyware scan and a registry and temp files clean up If you dont have a temp file and reg cleaner, download this excellent free tool and analyse and remove all uneccasary files. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
