SOURCE: cann't eject cassette from Canon ZR60
I had a similar problem last few days with my ZR60.
The problem I had was that the tape won't eject and on repeated attempts to eject it would eject as if it had a mind of its own.
I was messing with it a little bit and realized that the door was not opening fully. Being a delicate item I didn't realize that I was not fully opening the door may be because there was a little friction in the pivot pins or what ever.
Try to gently swing the door open fully and see if it helps.
Since I discovered this problem I tried 10-12 times, and every time it would eject the tape and load it.
I was almost going to give up this camcorder last night thank GOD, I am able to use it.
Good Luck to you.

I also found that I couldn't operate the camera in play mode. There is a section of the troubleshooting guide that says that the "The cassette compartment cover will not open or it stops halfway while you insert or remove a tape." According to the guide the solution is one of the following:
- Battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack (pg 17).
- Attach the battery pack correctly.
- Use the compact power adapter.
I removed the battery pack and unplugged the power adapter, then plugged in the power adapter/re-installed the battery pack and could get the camera to operate in play mode, but when I tried to eject the cassette the camera it would not only "not" eject the casstte but it also stopped operating in play mode. I'm going to try letting the battery charge to see if that helps.

Hi,
The mechanical of the tape loading path is misaligned, Contact any expert for mechanical adjustment of the tape loading path, No worries it will work fine again, and this would not be expensive.
Thanks for using fixya.

BEST advice here and I am expecting a good feedback for this one!! Your camera ATE your tape and its so jammed in there that your poor camera is trying to eject it but can't SPENT that few bucks to have the tape removed you be glad you did and you just might save your camera. Can i get a around of aplause?

Canon UC8Hi: The cassette is not retained when the door is closed - it is ejected again immediately. IF it is not ejected, the ''EJECT'' light flashes.
