When powering on my Canon PowerShot A 85, the LCD image is reversed and inverted, and all the icons around the screen are upside down and reversed, in the opposite corner to where they should be.
When trying to shoot, the image is displayed upside down. when viewing pictures stored on the card, they are also upside down.
I hope someone can throw some light on this problem.

Re: Inverted image problem
Has this just happened or has it always been like this?
There appears to be a a fault in the main board and only replacement will cure-
So may be if the camera is more than a year or so old- time for a new one.
Meanwhile do speak to the Canon Tech Support on the Web site.
And whilst the matter is still not resolved ,shoot holding the camera upside down- seriously - tell me what happens.

Click the "disp" button. The display of the camera has been turned off in the LCD screen but you can still use the viewfinder, this functionality is just for those who prefer to use the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen.
Hi, It is known problem of ccd imager failure in S3IS Canon camera and ccd imager chip will be replaced to get live view to take fresh picture.
Local camera repair shop will repair camera by replacing ccd imager chip because camera will take apart and soldering work is also involve so its not likely novice fix. Thanks.
The camera displays an inverted image on the LCD camera screen or when you view the image on windows vista? If it is Vista what program are you using to view the image? If it is the camera check the settings on the camera for the special effects settings and see if the image inversion setting is on. Ther could also be a problem with the LCD display on the camera.
I can tell you how to solve the reversed image. With the camera running look on the side of phone where the up/down volume keys are. If you press up button you will notice image on screen change. I think the down button inverts the image? Up or down this should correct your inverted image problem.
With regards to people experiencing lines and blacked out screens this appears to be a phone fault.
