I HAVE A VR-4090 THAT MY LITTLE BROTHER JUST GAVE ME. HE THOUGHT IT WORKED, BUT WHEN I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON, IT JUST CLICKS LIKE IT IS TRYING TO TURN ON, BUT THE LIGHT DOESNT BLINK AND EITHER DOES THE SCREEN ON THE UNIT. I ASSUME IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE POWER, AND AM SEMI KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT SOFTWARE ELECTRONICS, BUT THIS HARDWARE ISSUE HAS ME STUMPED. THANKS FOR THE HELP.
DANNY
I have a similar problem in that the standby light is on when the receiver is plugged in, but when the power button is pressed, the unit clicks and the standby light remains on. Any ideas?
Thanks,

I fear that there's no easy fix. Sounds like the power supply or the board which controls it is bad. If you're not an electronics repair person, it'll need to go to a repair shop.
I just got a VR 2000 Enduro
but it wont start. It wont even turn when I click the starter button... no sound at all. I jumped it and rode it fine but it wont start on its own. I thought it might be the battery so I got a new one... still nothing. Any idea what the problem could be?
Someone told me water gets into the front plug on this model when it rains... would this prevent it from even making a sound when I push the button?
Please let me know what you think.
Could be the starting switch is corroded or broken. Could be the starter solenoid. Or it could be the starter itself. Maybe a blown fuse.
You really need a manual. It'll pay for itself real fast.
,
I used to have that very reciever, and If I recall correctly, the remote that comes with it (the little blue and black one) can't control other components. Only the bigger remote (that came with the VR-4070 and VR-4090) can be programmed. I will do a little more research later to find out for sure, though (I actually still have my remote for that thing!!).
