Power light blinking blue, will not power on
SOURCE: I have a Compaq SR
Hello shapscomp
The blinking green light is likely your Ethernet card's LED. Is the blinking light located near your Ethernet (network) cable?
It sounds as though your power supply has failed. You may be able to purchase a replacement power supply for it.
Would you like some assistance in deterimining if that is the case?
Thank you
BJ

Step 1 : Turn off the system by pressing the power button for 5 - 10 sec until the power LED is off. Removed all cables including the power cable (Exclude monitor cable and KeyBoard/Mouse).
Step 2 : Press power button for 5-10 sec again to drain fela power.
Step 3 : Reconnect the power cable at the back of the tower/computer and power on the system.
**If the same problem exists, Call HP tech Support (800-474-6836) because there is a high possibility that you have a bad Motherboard or Power Supply on the system.

The power light stays on when you start a computer. If it is the hard disk that works, it blinks once in a while. There may be a misconnection of the wires in the front panel of your desktop. You can check by seeing to it that the wires match those in the mainboard of your computer. Consult your computer mainboard manual for the location of the corresponding terminals for your front wires (e.g. hard disk wire into the corresponding hard disk terminal in the mainboard).

If you look up the HP diagnostic LED code on the xw8200, if the red diagnostic LED is blinking 4 times signifies a bad power supply.

Safe to ignore. It will blink even when the computer appears to be idle.
