Question about Motorola Mobility HS850 Consumer Headset

Nothing's happening! Just beeping intermittently...

When I put my headset on, I'm not getting the little "powering up" scaling tone, just nothing and it's not working. So I tapped the button and all I get is a strange, intermittent beep and still nothing. It's showing as charged. D'you guys think it needs a new battery or something? Should I just throw it out the window in a rage? Sorry about the wording - technically challenged...:(

Hi No let it sit for a few hours and then place it into the charger overnight this should re condition the battery. Then try to repair the headset with your phone. Be sure to set up a trusted pair thus alleviating the disconnecting of the pair. Any further questions email me or repost. (E) [email protected] Have a Great Day !!

Intermittent long beep noise

First you can go around the car and check all the silly stuff. Check all the windows are wound fully up, open and close all the doors and the tailgate then remove and refit your fuel filler cap. These can trigger warning tones. Check there isn't anything heavy on one of the seats as this can trigger the seat belt warning tone. Yes, I did it with a bag of potatoes and it drove me mad trying to figure it out. Check you haven't turned a car feature on by accident like the Parking sensors or the 'Passing to Close' alarm. Some reverse sensors 'Beep' when you put it in gear so have you left it in gear when you parked the car?

Peeping when start up

The 3 beeps is an error code. If not in your Dell manual contact their customer service tech department to find out what the beeps refer to and then you be guided accordingly with your repair. Could be a bad peripheral, faulty power supply signal, etc.

Toshiba x205 Sli1 suddenly died. Got 3 beeps.

3 beeps usually means that either the chipset or the processor is dead. Nothing you can do, take it to a repair shop.

Remote ring detection provides a low tone * triple beep in your wireless headset when you receive an incoming call. This feature requires a handset lifter accessory, such as the Plantronics HL1 or HL10. If you do have a handset lifter but do not hear the remote ring detection, please check the following:

  • Check the placement of the lifter. - Make sure the handset lifter positioned directly over the phone's speaker.

  • Try adjusting the phone's ringer volume. If the phone's ringer is too quiet, it may not trigger the ring detection built into the lifter. Try turning up the ringer volume of your phone.

  • Check the ring tone of the phone. - If your phone's ring tone provides short beeps or plays music, the lifter's microphone may not detect it. Try switching your ring tone to a traditional ring or long beep.

  • Does the phone have different rings? - For example internal calls vs external calls vs transferred calls. Does the phone ring the same for each type of these calls. If so try changing so all calls use the same tone.

  • Attach the optional "external ring detector" cable. This cable plugs into the lifter and provides a small, black microphone. It is included in the plastic bag of lifter accessories. Mount the microphone near your telephone's speaker. Click here for more details.

  • There are 2 versions of the Lifter accessory - HL10 and HL1. The HL1 is a larger older version of the liter with a more sensitive rind detector. Some phones will require the older version of the lifter.

  • Please view the On Line Compatibility Guide to see if the older version (HL1) will be required for your phone.

*Please note the volume of notification beep in the headset cannot be altered, it will always be a low tone triple beep .
