TV wont turn off

When I push the POWER button to turn the TV/DVD off, I lose the audio and the set doesnt turn off. Further more when I lose audio I cant turn it back up. But when I unplug the set and push the POWER button it all works again. So to turn my power off, and reset my audio I have to unplug the set. Any ideas of what might be wronge? thnx J

IT COULD BE THAT THERE IS SOME METAL DEBRI IN BETWEEN THE TWO BUTTONS ON THE MOTHER - CIRCUIT - BOARD YOU CAN UNPLUG THE TV OPEN IT UP THERE IS I BELIEVE 4 SCREWS THAT HOLD THE BLACK COVER ON THE BACK THEN THERE SHOULD BE TWO BUTTONS THAT HOLD THE CIRCUIT BOARD PULL IT OUT VERY CAREFULLY AND LOOK OUT FOR DEBRI. YOU COULD CLEAN IT WITH DISTILLED ALCOHOL AND A SOFT BRUSH YOU WILL HAVE TO UNPLUG THE SPEAKER CONNECTOR ON THE LEFT SIDE ALSO ANOTHER CONNECTOR THAT COME FROM THE TUBE HOPE THIS HELPS

check to see if top of remote has settings like,aa&t tv, power, dvd,aux. try pushing one at a time, then power. you may have just hit another button accidentally.

Manual on URC-3940

Note: most remotes allow you to find the code by manually turning the TV (or other device) on first, then press the appropriate button (cable, DVD, surround, etc) then setting the the remote in the "program" mode, then keep pushing the "off/power" button until the TV (or other device) turns off, at that point the code is set.

No power on vizio E371VL

Vizio TV model E371VL turned on ok and had tv show on ch.4.
Turned on the DVD player and put movie dvd in and closed tray.
We have done thhis numerous of times and never had a problem.
This time " HDMI " was showing on top right of black screen,
then " No Signal " came up on screen, then went completely black screen. Called Vizio, they had me power off and unplug set.
Push and Hold power button on TV for 30 sec. to reset.
Replug set and Vizio (lighted) on lower front of set lighted normally dull orange. Pushed power button on remote and when set did not come on, then push main power button on side of TV. Nothing, no White " Vizio " from orange light. Is this a power supply (0500-0412-1020) problem ? Thanks, Sidney ([email protected])

A number of possible reasons for this---failing part in set or even bad connections on main board in the set----model listed is prone to going dead with high pitched squeel etc.

Check two things: first does the set have sound with just a DVD etc connected to one of the rear audio/video inputs? Second is check in menu that speakers are not turned OFF.

The buttons assigning DVD, TV, VCR, etc suddenly changed their assignments. DVD was now TV, VCR was now DVD, etc. I don't think it all happened at once either. Now I can't get sound from the...

There are facilities to CHOOSE the digital assignment. I've seen where extended power loss will randomly lose custom settings. Open the manual.

Universal remote wont work with this TV

Questions: Who is "Sansui", the digital box ? or the TV? Is the "digital box=remote control"? turn on what you want to control.
Face the RC face down or away from TV,or whatever you want to control. Usually:: push & hold TV & SEARCH button until light blinks, two, three times? FACE THE TV and put the code for the [TV=Sansui ?] You said #189 try 0189 [zero,one,eight,nine]
2nd) TV power ON!,....HOLD down (and if you have a SEARCH) button and the tv power button on RC, two or three blinks, push up arrow once, press power button for TV on RC, nothing!, continue...up arrow, power button. when the TV turns off, you have found the code,. YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THIS 50-150 TIMES because the RC is looking through EVERY code!

Disney Princess dvd player will NOT turn on or eject.

On front of television is the video, left and right audio plug ins. This is where you will plug the adapters from your dvd player. They are color coded for easy installation. Step2Make sure the adapter is also plugged in to back of dvd player. Step3Plug dvd player into power source and turn on. Step4On the front of television there is a tv/av button. Press this button twice or until it says video 2 in upper left hand corner of television. Step5Insert movie into dvd player and enjoy. To get your tv back to cable press tv/av button once.

Can you try just running a/v cable from your tv output to the inputs on the ilo, then whatever you watch on your tv you can record on your dvd burner. My new SDTV doesnt have audio out except Coax so this won't work for me on that tv. Why doesnt the newer tv's have audio AND video outputs???
