Oven door does not close

Hi, I jyst purchased a GE Profile convection oven model #jt912skss, and during transporting, it was flipped on the face. The flip was not hard at all and happened during a real slow turn. The unit was not in the box but is a new unit fron best buy outlet. After the flip, the door would not shut close. You know how half way closing the door it has a stop then it spring loads close, but it seems the spring action is gone and the door stays open. Any ideas? Thanks aagha

I opened the door to clean something and all of sudden the door felt heavy and when I went to try to close the door, it get stuck about a quarter of the way to closing it and there seems to be something stopping it from closing. It gets stuck and I cannot close it. I am thinking that perhaps one of springs has come loose or something and is preventing the door from closing. Is this an easy fix for me to do, or should I get someone to fix it? Thank you.

Multiple possibilities.

  • Not using a light bulb designed for use in a oven.
  • Inexpensive bulb. (very low lamp hour rating).
