I had a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE632U that developed A vertical Multi-colored Line on the right side of center. The Business owner that picked it up mumbled something about a panel. He took the T.V. To his shope. He Called Us about a week later and said the T.V. Worked Fine and there Wasn't any problems. We did not feel comfortable with that and asked for a new replacement. After much bantering around he agreed. About two weeks later we went to pick up the new t.v only to find it was the same one by checking the serial numbers. I asked for a refund. He gave it to me. Now he is suing us telling us that we damaged the T.V. by pluggin in HDMI Cables while it was on. Which we did not. However he said he has a letter from sharp saying that was what happened. So now he is suing us for twice the amount of the cost of the original T.V. He said we voided the warranty and he has to buy a new warranty. So I guess our question is can plugging an HDMI cable into a t.v. while it is on cause damage and can specific damaged be indentified?

SOURCE: Samsung HP-R4252, white vertical line

Unfortunately you probably have a bad lcd panel. This is caused by the heat of the panel releasing the solder that holds the ribbon cable that supplies the picture information to the panel. A lcd panel is more often than not, more expensive than getting a new tv, also the new tv will come with a warranty. Most of the unit I have had this problem with were uneconomical to repair. Sorry for the bad news, Hope this helps.

SOURCE: CRACK LCD TV SCREEN

I had one broken a few months ago. I got a couple quotes.. it was about $200 less then a brand new one. I'd just buy a new one.
For the new TV I'd pickup a screen protector for it. My son threw a toy at my TV the other day and I nearly had a heart attack from the flashbacks. Thank God I picked up one of these a few weeks earlier. It stopped it. LCD screens really break easily as you know. http://www.tv-armor.com

My sharp aquos tv LC-60LE632U has picture but no sound, What can be done?

Check the audio 'output select' under the Systems Settings menus. The output may be set to 'variable'. Set it to 'fixed' so that the audio runs through the speakers.

Green vertical line on the right side of screen

Warranty still alive?
Hope so; the problem could be an expensive one.

The screen appearance is controlled by allowing light from a backlight through by turning pixels off and on.
This switching is done by a matrix that turns on vertical and horizontal pixels of the right shade at the right time to produce the image you see.
One of the control elements for the vertical that controls the transmission of green light from the backlight, has died (no longer switching off and on when told) and these are normally a part of the LCD screen assembly itself and not easily replaceable.

I would be talking to Sharp - this shouldn't happen in 6-7 months of use.

Vertical line

Sorry, you have a defective LCD panel. If your TV is still under warranty, contact Sharp to get the TV exchanged. Otherwise, LCD panels cost more than the TV is worth.
