EIO is the External Input Output slot that is on the formatter of the printer. the 8150 has 2 EIO slots (EIO 0 or EIO 1). One of the slots is probably the JetDirect card (network card) for the printer. The second slot might be a hard drive but is usually open.
If you are getting a EIO error first try reseating the JetDirect card (power off the printer first). If you are still getting the error pull the card and power up the device with out the card installed. if the error goes away power down the unit and install the card in the other EIO slot. if the card works you have a bad slot on the formatter but you should be good to use the device. If you get another EIO error the card is probably bad.
On the back of the printer where the network cable is plugged in, in your case it is EIO slot 1. The problem could be the slot(EIO 1) or the JetDirect card that is plugged into that slot. Power down and loosen the two screws on the JetDirect card and reseat it. Power up and try using the printer. If the error persists, power down and remove the JetDirect and plug it into EIO 2. There are two screws that hold the EIO cover on. Power up and try the printer. If it works, take the two screws and the cover and use it to cover EIO 1. And you are good to go. If it fails again with a 81.02, the JetDirect may need changing
The EIO accessory in slot 2 has encountered a critical error as specified. On the back of the machine you have a additional card installed (Network Card, Hard drive, USB, etc.. ).
Steps to resolve: Turn machine off and unplug power cord. Re-seat the card in the EIO slot. Power machine back on, see if it works. If machine still displays the error - Install the card into the other EIO Slot,(Their is 2 slots on the back of the formatter) Power Machine back on to see if it works.
If Problems still persists: Remove the card from the machine, Turn machine back on and see if it comes up to a normal operation. If the machine is working correctly, it's most likely a Bad EIO Card.
If machine still doesn't operate as it should you will probably need a formatter.
The 82.XX error represents that the External Card which is located in the formatter of the machine, either is bad or the port in the formatter is bad (This could be a Network Card or a Hard Drive really depends on your machine.) Recommended Solutions: Please make sure you turn off the machine before removing the card!
Remove the card from EIO slot 2 and plug it into the EIO Slot 1 is the card still does not work then the card will need to be replaced.
If both the EIO slots do not recognize the card. It's most likely the card, however it could also be the formatter.
You have a problem with the device plugged into EIO slot 1. Most likely it's a JetDirect card. Turn power off and reseat the card. Power up, if problem is still there put the card in the other EIO slot. There should be 2 EIO slots. If it still fails you will have to replace the JetDirect
pls perform these steps
1
Remove all memory DIMMs or thirdparty
DIMMs from the printer. (Do not
remove the firmware DIMM in the lower
slot J1).
2
Remove the printer EIO card.
3 turn the printer on
4 If the error does not persist, install each
DIMM and EIO device one at a time.
Turn the printer off and then on again
after installing each device.
5 Replace DIMMs and EIO devices as
necessary.
10. Reconnect all of the printer cables.
11. If the error persists, replace the firmware dimm
& calibrate the printer
ur problem will be resolve
this is a network card error. the EIO card in slot 3 is probably faulty. Try swapping the card into slot 1 or 2. If you get the same error then you will need to replace the card.
System Error: 09xxxx (Non-Continuable)
Problem
Description:
EIO Accessories (EIO Card/Hard Disk Drive) Error.
Corrective Action: Try the following:
n Switch the Printer OFF and ON again and wait for the initialization.
n If the Error code continues to appear, switch the Printer OFF.
Remove the EIO Card (if installed) and make sure that the Hard
Disk Drive is installed correctly by pushing it firmly inwards and
checking that the two installation screws are completely
tightened. Switch the Printer ON again. If the error codes 09Axxx
or 09Bxxx appear then replace the Hard Disk Drive.
n If the Error Code disappeared after removing the EIO Card, then
switch the Printer OFF and reinstall the EIO Card, making sure
that the two installation screws are completely tightened. Switch
the Printer ON again. If the Error Code reappears, then the EIO
Card could be faulty. Replace the EIO Card.
n If Error Code 09Cxxx appears after initialization, then replace the
Electronics Module
n Once the Error Code has been solved, print an Internal Demo
Print to make sure that the Hard Disk Drive is functioning
correctly. If the Error Code reappears, then use the above
information to troubleshoot the problem
