1( test the outlet wall , put some lamp if there are light
2)test the power cord.
3) test the thermostat

We have a water filter and softened water. Our iron is clean and went after 2 months.
A Morphy Richards Jet Stream Elite pro.
It is just the steam generator that has gone.

The safety switch is normally a motion sensor , it should only come on when there is no motion and the iron is face down. Try shaking it up a bit as it has a moving ball inside that detects the motion. Failing that it would need a motion sensor replacement or calibration. Regards PSP

1)If the iron doesn't heat, make sure power is on to the outlet, 2) check the electrical cord, and 3) check the thermostat (see the Appliance Controls Fix-It Guide) and replace if necessary

totally open your iron, your iron element or thermostat is dirty with dirsty paticles, clean with thinner & fix it

Your iron has a poor contact in the temperature control.
I would suggest you take it to a fixer-upper place and have it checked.

If you don't mind mailing it to Canada, I could do it.

Check the Yellow Pages. There must be someone in your neghbourhood who still does such repairs.
