Either wrong belt or bearings very worn or collapsed so pulley is running out of true and throwing belt off. can also be caused by the bearing spider being broken

How do i adjust belt tension

Technically you don't.
The serpentine belt is kept tight by a spring loaded pulley called a tensioner.
If the belt is slipping, either the belt has stretched and needs to be replaced, or the spring in the tensioner has failed and it needs to be replaced.

When it rains hard my 2000 dodge gran caravans bat. Lt. comes on and i start losing my power steering why

The serpentine belt is slipping when wet. Either the plastic shield on the bottom of the van is missing, or the belt is not being kept tight by the tensioner.

I've replaced the power steering belt on my 1994 SVX and it is still squealing. The replacement stopped it for a week or so but it is just as bad as it was. I was told you can replace the bearings in a...

Well, I had a similar problem with a belt on a 1990 Olds Cutlass Calais that kept slipping until I sprayed it with 'belt dressing.'

I replaced the belt but it still slipped.
I would try that first before replacing the power steering pump itself.
I don't think that changing the bearings in the power steering pump would make a difference.
It's a belt problem.

Broke engine to deck belt after only 33 hours of mowing. Swisher needs to resolve this problem. Will they stand behind their products?

I also had the same problem, belts kept breaking after a short period of time, and the problem turned out to be the four bolts holding the engine to the frame loosened to the point the engine was tilting and letting the belt slip. Once new bolts with lock washers were installed, all has been good.

Belt seems to be slipping

As a general rule, the belt should be kept as loose as possible. However, the belt must not slip on the rollers in normal use. Possible overtension can be quickly checked by walking on the belt at a speed of 3 mph The belt must slip on the front roller if you brake the belt with your feet, holding onto the hand rails, while you walk. If the belt does not slip, the tension is too high and the rear roller must be loosened. The belt tension and alignment is done by adjusting the rear roller position with the attachment bolts at the back of the treadmill a 1/4 turn at a time until correct tension attained. T

Timing belt on 1997 Dodge Caravan keeps slipping off after new installation

I had a 1998 dodge caravan that kept doing the same thing, it would actually break the belt when it come off. I fixed this by buying a slimmer belt, you know, one that is not so wide. I put a slimmer belt on mine and I never had another problem. Maybe this will help.

Traction Belt (new) continues to slip off of drive plate.

Sounds like you may need to replace the pulley as well. It has likely worn out of specification.

I recommend that you contact your nearest authorized service center, or contact Toro directly for assistance.

I trust this information proves useful.

Serpentine belt wont stop slipping

sounds like your belt tensioner pulley may be defective, also check all the pulleys for excessive play in the pulley bearings, these are the most common causes.
