Question about Pioneer DVR-110D DVD RW Dual Layer Burner

1 Answer

DVD R burnt by pioneer drive couldn't be read by itself.

I have Pioneer DVD RW (DVR 110D) drive. It works good for all disk types except DVD R disks. It reads the dvds written on other computers but fails to read the dvds written by itself. The disk written on this drive are readable on other computers but not on it. I think that this problem is due to some compatibility issues between the disk and the drive. If it is, then please suggest the DVD R type which can be used with my drive, or any other solutions?

If there were compatability issues with the disc it would have been unable to burn to the dvd initially, the problems you mention are a sign that the reading in the dvd is failing and there's never a solution for problems as these, as it means that a replacement is needed, as the dvd writer arent worth repairing. I had the same thing exactly, but after a while it wouldnt even acknowledge that i had a writable dvd in the drive, but was ok with cd's. I think it is down to poor quality lasers, so as to keep the dvd writer prices down.

I am trying to burn using Pioneer DVR-110 DVD RW its starts to burn then after 1 or 2 min it stop and says cannot burn why is that what can i do to fix it please???

You can try and clean the lazer and the 2 chrome rails that the lazer moves along as it reads the disk.To clean the lazer use get some Isopropanol from your local chemist.Use a cotton bud NOT SOAKED with a small amount of Isopropanol and gently clean the glass using a circular motion and and polish with a clean and dry cotton bud.To clean the rails use special fine machine oil. Do not use WD40 as it contains water.Hope this helps you.

My drive is listed as DVD-RW-DVR-lllD, but when I put a DVD disk into it, it changes automatic to CD-RW Drive E. How do I keep it as a DVD burner?

Try burning a disk, and taking the burnt disk to another computer, to see if the other computer recognizes the media as being a DVD disk.

Pioneer DVR-109 DVD±RW...

This ahs to with speed of recording of the CD/DVD try reading CD/DVD burnt at a lower speed like 16x.

Most DVD writers has low maximum reading speed as compared to CD-ROMs.

You can try burning a CD on it and then reading it, if reads then it shows that other cd were burnt at faster speed than it can read.

If it read lower speed CDs then you can just add an additional DVD/CD-ROM just to read faster speed disks.

Pioneer DVD Burner no longer reading burnt disks...

yes your quite correct, starforce once installed can damage the fimware more so for multi writers, a common problem will be slower recording speeds. It can even damage the hardware itself and render the writer totally useless. If your getting to that stage, for the price of a new writer, it's not worth the worry, replacing the drive is the only answer.
