Receiver and TV not communicating well. No video on TV !

Hello, and thanks in advance for any guidance you can give me on this. I've spent loads of time trying to figure this out and I'm stumped. When the tuner/receiver is set to DTV/CBL, I can hear the TV programs but can't see video. Instead I see against a black screen and the following in big white letters: P01 Stereo 2ch Stereo Direct.....Auto If I push DTV/CBL on the remote I see more white letters, including "auto analog" but still no picture. Pushing the menu button gets me nothing. I apparently have an audio connection to the TV as I hear the programs on the TV and can change channels. Note: The DVD option works, and I see video on the TV when I play a DVD. I see nothing obviously disconnected behind the electronics, but with the snake's nest back there, and occasional cats prowling back there, I can't promise there's nothing detached. To crawl around back there any more I'd have to be convinced there was something to look for. :-) FYI: I have Verizon FIOS and a Sharp LC-45GD4U TV that is 7 years old and hasn't given me any problems yet. Also, the tuner has many options I never have fully understood (like driving speakers not in that room for example). I hope this last part isn't relevant, but figured I'd include it. I'm confused enough without taking on any more challenges, lol ! I have unplugged both the TV and the tuner and plugged back in with no change. Please help. Thanks !

One more clue: When I watch a DVD, the word "STRAIGHT" is superimposed across the lower half of the screen for the duration of the DVD.

Try changing your AVI cables, the yellow one could be causing the problem.
Try plugging the your cables into the spear ports at the front of the tv if it has them.

SOURCE: sound

I'm assuming you you have a basic TV to receiver hookup. Make sure you have the TV audio video output going to the receiver input.

HT-RC360 no longer feeds video to my TV .

Update firmware (usually every 6 months). Connect the ethernet to the unit, press Net and Power button simultaneously. Hit Enter as directed. Takes up to 60 minutes. OR (if no internet service), download firmware updates onto a USB (32MB) and connect it to the USB port. If you do not update voluntarily, unit will suddenly not feed video.

My hdmi connection for dvd & cable have both stopped working. The receiver is flashing

Unless you've been pulling it in and out, it shouldn't go bad. I assume you've checked to be sure it's properly connected.
HDMI cables should cost less than $20. If you were talked into a $100 cable, you were taken advantage of.
HDMI has a function called HDCP. The TV source and TV have a conversation over it to make sure that only an approved device (your TV) is connected to the cable. This is for copyright protection reasons.
Have you recently connected a new source (cable box, DVD player, whatever)?
Your problem can be in the TV, the cable or the source.
Try substituting for each to determine what's failed.
If you have your TV now hooked-up with component, you may have discovered that there's little or no difference in the picture

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

I think you will find it reports low ink as a warning to give you time to go out and buy replacement ink cartridges. Do not change the ink until it is empty . or not printing the particular colour.

I've got a vsx-920-k Pioneer receiver with s-11 Pioneer speakers and a s-21w Pioneer subwoofer. All of a sudden my sub stopped working and it seems like it's stuck in standby mode (blue light...

The manual is here...

http://www.pioneerprodj.eu/eur/products/42/99/S-21W/media.html

Flashing Blue is not defined in the manual.

Have you tried changing the Auto Standby switch to ON?

You can prove if the sub amp will respond to a known good input by TURNING ITS VOLUME DOWN tp start and just feeding it ANY RCA output from the receiver while playing, say, FM (to keep it simple). That way you would known in which direction the problem actually lies (internal or external).

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. Did you make any changes to the output resolution on the Wii. The output must be at 480i for the receiver to up-convert to HDMI. If there is a problem with the receiver I suggest a work around by connecting the component [red, blue, green] video outputs to the TV and the audio connections [red, white] to the receiver. Thank you, Onkyo USA
