The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Re:
The main power supply, or the horizontal output stage may have failed. Sometimes when the horizontal output stage has failed parts, the power supply is also damaged.
An experienced tech should be able to troubleshoot your set for you and replace the defective parts.

no you require the remote or a universal remote or sometimes a cable remote that has been programmed to work the volume on the tv set will have an input button .
If the TV is less than one year old, I would suggest to call the place where you bought it from and ask them for an authorized repair centre.
The TV should be still covered under manufacturers warranty.
I am relentless when it comes to problems like this. I had the same problem with my TV being stuck in video mode. I found out that there is a reset button......It's on the @*&#^&^ original remote!!!!! So I tried programming my Time Warner Scientific Atlanta AT8550 remote for the TV to see if the "video source" button would work. IT WORKED!!!! You have to use code 1062. Instructions are:
1. Turn the TV on. 2. Press and hold select and the TV keys until the lights blink twice. 3. Enter 1062. All mode keys blink twice to indicate that the code was accepted. 4. Point the remote at the TV and press power to test the TV. 5. You can then successfully use the "Video Source" button on the bottom left of the remote to change the video mode. VOILA!!!
If you don't have a Scientific Atlanta AT8550 remote, I'm sure you know someone that does. They're everywhere!
