Question about ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard
Hello everyone, I recently bought a bunch of parts to build my own computer. all parts are new. anyways, put everything together. check to make sure all is secure. go to turn on.. I get pretty much nothing. you can hear the power supply start to turn on and the fans move a little, then its dead. I have changed the power supply 3 times. 380 watt, 450 watt and 600 watt. I have built at least 13 computers in the past 3 years with nothing like this happening. any info/help would be much appreciated. here is the setup. Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego 2.4GHz Socket 939 Processor Model ADA4000DKA5CF ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce SPP 100 ATX AMD Motherboard XFX PVT73GUGD3 GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card G.SKILL Value 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model F1-3200PHU1-1GBNT LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with 12X DVD-RAM write and LightScribe Technology Beige ATAPI/E-IDE Model LH-20A1H-184
The ATX power supply needs to have pin16(PS_On#) to be connected to COM for it to work. When you press the power switch on the front panel of the computer, you are essentially making this connection. Check that the cable from the power supply to the motherboard is making good connection. You can verify operation of the power supply by shorting Pin16 to pin17 on the powersupply output, with a paper clip. Pin16 is usually a green wire and 17 is black. Hope this helps. -Vish

thanks for the help. . it didnt seem to help. I am getting power to the motherboard. the green light is on. I have unplugged and re-plugged everything making sure its tight. get the green power light.. hit the button. nothing. . I have checked the case hook ups to make sure there connected right and they where. I have even touched the 2 power pins with a flat head screw driver. . sense this can help that connection. but nothing, other then the power supply trying to click on. . thanks again for the help!
I have the same problem, but mine has been working for 2 years. Then all of a sudden, the button doesn't work. I have a green light on the MB, but nothing happens.
