When I turn on the cam corder I can not see the object on the screen.
I turn on my cam corder but I can not see the object on the screen. I must have changed a setting of some sort in error. I have tried to review the menu but don't know what I am doing. Any idea what I need to do ? Please help. Thank you

i think you will have to buy a new camcorder because if it is creeping out like that it is probably the camera itself, well the crack has something to do with it also, but its the camera,if it was just a crack itself on the camera then you can replace it,if you didnt keep touching it after it cracked it probably would have been alright to just get a new screen, but now its messed up...
Two things here. Is your cam corder a digital one? If so there should be a connector on it for either firewire or USB, and if not, you will need some kind of video capture device if your cam corder has outputs on it. If not, you will need a player (vhs-c or 8mm or whatever your format) that can send out to the computer. Once this connectivity is done, you need video capture software that will "encode" the video files that will be produced. If your cam corder is already data (hard drive onboard or SCD card recording, you will only have to "demux" the format you have into the format that you are seeking (ie.. MPG to AVI or so on).
I hope that helps you out.. let me know if you need more clarification. It also might help if you give the media you have (VHS-c etc.) and the available outputs that you see on your cam corder. Thanks!
My cam corder is model number DCR-PC9 not DCR-TRV525

I have always used DVM60 casset Willappreciate help to solve the problem. Sincerely
You are likely using the S-Video cable (multi-pin cable that connects to the front of the camera below the spotlight). This cable carries video but not audio. To get audio, use the multi RCA to 1/8" adapter (has red, yellow, and white cables and plugs into the side of the camera)
