Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

1 Answer

My MP3 player won't regonize or play all my songs!

I loaded about 400 songs (most were from cds I ripped to MP3 format and some downloaded ones) and they played fine for awhile. Then one day, my mp3 player just stopped seeing them and now only shows that I have 79 files loaded, yet says I'm almost using up all my memory. I plugged the unit into my computer and browsed. Sure enough, the computer "Sees" all the files but they are "ghosted" (greyed) out but I can double click on them and play them on my computer. Any idea why my MP3 player won't see or play these files anymore?

Loaded songs from cds ripped to computer. When itry ro play the songs on the media player, I get a 'format error'

Your getting a format error because the format of the song, video, etc
you are trying to play is not the format needed by your MP3 player to
play the song,video,etc.
Always check in your owners manual to find out what format your player
requires.
Once you have determined what the format you have (MP3,MP4,ACC,WMA,etc.)
you will need to determine what format you need for your player to play
those songs,video,etc.
If the format that you have for your songs, videos, etc is different than
the format that you need for your player to play them, then you will
have to download a format converter and convert each song, video, etc to
the format that is usable in your MP3 player.

It's telling me to synchronize music that I own (copied from cds)

Use Windows Media Player to rip the songs into Mp3 format - make sure you select mp3 in the Rip options. Real Player rips songs from CD into the wrong format.
