Everything is working as it should, but it doesn't steam

The steam buster worked one time, was put up, not used for 6 months are more and gotten out to be used everything is working as the book says it should but no steam. The book says to clean it after use with a water, vinegar mix which I didn't do because it was only used for a minute on a small spot. Its brand new, and everything is working, but it won't steam.

Minerals in the water may have solidified and clogged it. The vinegar is an acid which can help to dissolve and flush and rinse out the minerals.

What kind of batteries does the steam buster use

If it is this one, contact the maker. Nearly all battery operated devices have the battery type mentioned on the bottom of the battery compartment. It is likely to be C size or D size, or 18650.

Hoover steam carpet cleaner - turbine needed for F7458-900

Once you get the turbine out, open it up by unlatching the three latches and unscrewing two screws. Pull the gears out and WD40 everything. Let it sit for a bit and start turning the solver gear at the back with a pair of pliers. Once it is loose, put all the gears back together and return everything to it's place. FIXED! without buying a new turbine....

Make sure the suction area of the face plate is clear of all debris. If anything else, call the number on the machine, it's still under warrantee if the machine doesn't work from normal use.

I have the bissell pro heat turbo microban cleaner. It's about 2 1/2 years old and maybe used 8 times. The brushes do not work and it's not suctioning up the water. I've checked the belt on...

You already said it, so check the carbon brushes. Once it is no longer able to push the rotor or stator it need to be replace. Carbon brushes are customized at the machine shop, so you should bring it so that you have a sample of the brushes itself. Just be observant when disassembling the motor so that you put it back to exact place.
Thanks for asking.

Steam buggy water reservoir cap has apparently been cross threaded, and cannot be removed by twisting or other "encouragement." If I cut it off, where can I get a replacement? Can the machine be used as...

You need to completely annihilate the plastic cap by cutting it off and destroying the remaining plastic to expose the stainless steel insert/plug. You can use either a pipe wrench or 11mm wrench to turn the insert counter-clockwise to unscrew. You will need to use some force to get the plug out since it's basically glued shut by lime deposits in your tap water.

Do not move the slotted cap or else this will need to be adjusted so that all your water doesn't squirt out before turning to steam.

Next time only use distilled water. Store with the cap off. Grease the inner and outer threads after every use and wipe it off completely before use so it doesn't mix with the steam and turn to vapor.
